Is there a way to turn my laptop into the 360's source of internet connection?

Alright so heres the problem. I moved out about a month ago and I realized after settling in that the router was too far for the ethernet cable to reach and being that I lack a wireless adapter and funds to go purchase a wireless adapter, that has meant no XBL.

I just remembered today about hearing people using their laptops as sources of connection in some sort to their 360's and now I am thinking that could be my cheap ticket out.

The 360 is hooked up to my laptop via ethernet cable right now but it hasn't worked so I am guessing that if this is possible there are more steps involved to making the 360 connect to the internet through my computer.

Would really love help with this please!

You've prolly already come to this conclusion, but from what ive gathered on your problem your gonna need to get a longer ethernet cable. They have100ft cables, im guessing that should b long enough. Hope everything works out.

Click on: Connect To > Show All Connections. Right click on your connection and choose Properties. From there, click the Advanced tab. Then, check the "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" box. Make sure the "Allow other network users to control or disable the shared internet connection" (Found right below the first box) box is NOT checked.

After doing this I was able to get internet perfectly. :D

Edit: This is assuming you are connecting your laptop wirelessly and have an ethernet cable leading from your 360's ethernet port, to your laptop's.

lol after making this topic I played around and ended up doing that one myself.

Problem is I then lost internet on my laptop because of the setting and had to undo it....

Anyways, thanks for the replies. I tried googling too and found a really good guide that had me bridge my lan connection with my wireless connection and I THINK it is working now!
