Is there any version of the 360 that doesn't get the rroD?

no any version of the 360 can get them, but they added a new falcon chip in the new version of the 360 with the hdmi ports that should help reduce that from happening. The chip is soposed to keep the system running cooler.

O okay thanks! mite get 1 now...jst don't want to regret buying a 360, and finding out later that there's a version of the 360 that's completely cured of the rrod. Ty again.

yeah mate, most of the rrod issues are from the older chips, but all xbox's get RROD its a safety issue that prevents the console from receiving further dmg caused by hardware failure. the newer chips and fans are in most consoles on the market right now. some forums say the arcade bundle is the best to go by, since its a new bundle pack they tend to have the newer console, though no HD :(

take good care of it, dust the area around the console, dont move it while in play, and keep it in a well ventilated area and youll have no problems.

I've had mine since launch and it finally RROD'ed on me last week. Now I have to wait at least a month for a replacement. Right before Christmas which is very disappointing. So, to answer your question, I don't think you are safe with any version of the 360.

i dont get why people say its about taking care of your xbox. I know people including me, that babied their boxes and still got RRODs. I live in Western Canada and it never gets hotter than 25C. You can have a 20C basement leave plenty of space around your box and still RROD

exactly, if a 360 is gonna get it then it's going to happen even if you dust it, hold it or cuddle it.

I took extremely good care of my 360, I turn it on to play halo tonight and guess what I get 4 red blinking lights. The 360 is a great system, the hardware however is and continues to be a joke. Think about it, you can still get an origional NES to work today, and something advanced as the 360 has had a massive failure rate.

Dude, 4 red rings has nothing to do with hardware failure. Four RR's mean cables or something isn't connected properly. If you see 3 red lights. Then you are in some serious ****

wait another 6 months if you're affraid to buy a 360 that will break. OR just toughen up and buy one. Now that they changed all sorts of internal parts on the system, it's much less likely that the new ones (with the hdmi ports) will break as easy. but NOBODY knows for sure...........so people need to really STOP asking in the forums.

goodluck!

dust get in side? Do you mean: Dust getS inside. or Dust CAN get inside. And yea of course it does, dust gets inside of everything, from a TV, PC, PS3, PS2, but that does not make a difference. Too much dust would be due to a large case w/o circulation (i know all about that from my old PC with weak fans).

and please try to use spelling check next time. You made up several words. Skected? betetr? LOL!

Recent systems with falcon chips have dramatically reduced overheating issues. This is relevant due to the fact that heat is what causes the thermal paste on the processor to melt, resulting in what is known as the 3RLOD.

This should benefit you one way or another because Microsoft's technicians are now experiencing less of a workload due to less people submitting broken 360s. If you do have to send it in, the process should only take up to 3 weeks.

Any 360 with hdmi will not get the RROD because they have changed out the motherboards which were causing all the problems.
