I saw in some thread not too long ago about info on a newer xbox coming and people were mad because they just bought theirs. is this true?? i'd love to see the news / link on it
ms isnt making a handheld, there going to re-release the xbox360 but with a screen attatched its called xboxpalmlinkinworm

Anyway, I don't think it's likely that Microsoft would make a new Xbox anytime soon, since Sony has a 10 year plan for the PS3 and Nintendo's not really in direct competition with the two so who knows how long the Wii could last for. If anything they might announce a Blu-Ray drive for the 360.

The PS2 has only been out for about 8 years and it isn't current gen, I give them all about 3 years, 4 at the most. That's the way the industry has been doing it since the NES.

I did a special on this for a blog about 3 weeks ago actually. I cant remember for the life of me what news site it was, but they said the next xbox is going to be REALLY internet based. It said that there were ideas going around that there could be little electronic vending machine type things that you could order a movie on and it would download to your xbox at home. I know the article is somewhere on N4G.com. thats where i heard it.

If that is the next console model, I won't be buying it. Sorry I like to own my games well beyond the console life expectancy. I still have my NES and SNES for example. If the games were unavailable after the console 'died out' or the internet service required to play them went down that is more like renting them at full price instead of owning them at full price. I would not support such a model.
