I've been having a unique problem with Live for going on two weeks now and after several hours on the phone and several emails sent to Microsoft they've not helped me at all. I tried posting something on the Technical Issue's forum at Xbox.com and got completely ignored, and I'm sitting here still unable to get on Live. It's really pathetic how Microsofts technical support has literally no possible solutions to my problem.

Is there maybe some technical issues forum somewhere, where I could possibly get someone who know's what they're talking about? Maybe someone actually with some answers? Hell at this point, I'd be happy just to hear a few suggestions.

Alright, well basically I go to sign on and it tells me I'm not connected. I then go to test the connection and it fails at the "Wireless Network" stage of the test. The reason I say the problem is unique is because it clearly says I'm connected to my router on my list of available networks. I'm also on my computer using the very same router that I'm connecting too with my Xbox and no dice.

It was working for months straight with no problem, but this whole thing started when I took my system to a friends house and connected to his network. It worked fine over there but when I returned home I can't get it to connect.

Also have you tried just scrapping the old network you used for it, and just setting up a new one?

Hope you get it working soon i know how frustrating it can get but i now know what to do on mine nowwhen it does that.

Epicly late, but I'm resurrecting this topic since I've not yet found a solution. I've plugged and unplugged everything several times and I'm still having trouble.

I don't want to seem bratty or trollish, but I'm really mad at Microsoft throughout all of this. I mean I spent 400 bucks for the system, I've bought 8 games, I bought their ridiculously over priced 100$ wireless adapter. And after all the money and trust I've poured into their product, they screw me over with sh*tty customer service. I feel so helpless, like all this money has gone to waste.

That's just the thing. I've reset and unplugged the modem, adapter, and router on several occasions and I'm still getting the same issue.

Either download any new firmware updates for your router. Or on your router there should be a little hole where you can stick a tip of a pencil into it, well stick the tip of a pencil into it for 30 seconds. This will reset the router to factory settings. From there just reconfigure it with new firmware and watnot.

Also this isn't a problem with Microsoft its a problem with your router. You should've called your router's customer service, instead of MS.

I run two computers in my house (one is in the same room as my 360) and both use the internet fine. That's the reason I never chalked it up to being the routers fault.

(Off Topic)In fairness to Microsoft it is not their responsibility to handle such in depth networking problems. It is the problem of the customer how their network is set up.

Have you checked all of your setting on the 360? Did you change any settings on your router or on your 360 will at your friends house or since then? You need to remember what you did and how you set everything up as that is how you introduced the problem.

Go to your router settings and mess around with security settings. Also setup port forwarding for your xbox 360, and make it your dmz host as well. I can't really go in-depth with this because I do not know your ISP(Internet Server Provider) or what kind of router you have. Your best bet is to figure all of that out and either go on a scavanger hunt on google or just call your ISP and let them help you. You shouldn't be calling Microsoft because it isn't their fault.
