I have a HDTV and it's great. My friend rolls with a SDTV, and it's not terrible.  Do you want your graphics to be great, or not terrible? That's the question.

There is more clarity in the picture with more vibrant colors. When I switched over I could even read things like writing on the walls of some games that were not as clear before. So, yeah definitely worth it.

P.S. Try and save up a little more if you can and go w/ a 32" or bigger - you won't regret it and after you play awhile you'll wish you had something just a little bigger. I almost got the 26" also and w/ a widescreen it just looks better if it's bigger and if it is affordable to you.

I also have heard in some cases (Dead Rising, I think) that you could not see the text in the game.  If there's anything that I can say, just live life.  How much can it hurt if you splurge to enjoy games alittle bit more, you earned it...hopefully...

I think it depends on the game how drastic the change is, but you can definitely tell the difference between the sd and hd.

Games in Standerd= Going out with your everyday average girl to the movies

Games in HD= Having a party with all the playmates at the playboy mansion.
