Someone I know is selling their used Xbox 360 for 475. Here is what he is offering:

- Xbox 360 Pro Bundle (All Items in the Pro box included) (400 retail)
- Plus 2x Microsoft Wireless Controllers ($50 nw, used $40)
- Microsoft Media Remote ($30, can't be bought used)
- Carbon Faceplate ($20, can't be bought used)
- Under Ear Headset by Plantronics ($30, can't be bought used)

NOTE: When I state "can't be bought used" is refering to the trade in regularions of Gamestop and Blockbuster. They do not let you trade Media Remotes, Faceplates, and Headphones.

The 360 is out of warranty. However, as fate would have it. His 360 broke one month before it went out of warranty. Microsoft sent him a new console that was manufactored last Christmas. This was about a month ago, so his 360 is only a month old. He has content on his HD. The Shivering Isle Expansion, Knights of the Nine Faction, and GoW Front Map Packs. He said that if he is able to delete his profile and keep those items on the HD, he'll do so. All of the items are in great condition, he took extreme care of everything.

Thanks guys.

I sold my 360 premium with one extra controller (total of two) play&charge kit 36 arcade games on the HD and various other Dl's for other games including the first four that came out for oblivion for $325. Keep in mind mine was a launch system that never broke and is also out of warranty.

How is it a rip off? I did my adding and to buy all those products new in stores would cost around 650. Tax has to be taken in to consideration, which is 50 dollars, and the items on his HD are another 50. I can't buy half of it used besides the Harddrive and controllers. However you can't buy a used pro in stores so therefore my only option would be to buy the core and buy the pieces step by step would would exceed 500+ just to turn the used core in to a used pro. If I want the media remote it is 30 wether I like it or not, same goes for the headset.

I have no need for an Elite, I don't need the HDMI port, nor do I need the huge HD. I do need the extra controllers because many friends come over, and I'd use the Media Remote because I'd use the 360 as my main dvd player. So if I buy an Elite and Oblivion, I still have to buy the media remote, controllers, headset, and Oblivion Expansion, that totals to be 649, excluding tax and excluding Oblivion

May i remind you that this 360 is out of warranty....hence at least a year old.  Factor in risk of it dying and you biting the repair bill and his asking price is too high right off

Read everything I wrote. His 360 died right before his warranty went out. He had a launch 360. He sent it to Microsoft and they sent him a new or refurbished 360 that was manufactered in December of 06. He recieved the console not even a month ago. So the console is not even a month old.

You have a point, it is just half the people that have made a comment haven't bothered to read the entire post, which is frustrating. Someone stated the console was a year old, great thing to consider, and to point out, but if he had read more carefully he would have read that the console is not even a month old. Some one else listed the items the guy is selling me and said it is a bad deal, however he didn't list all the items that is being sold. Yes, 475 for a Pro, one controller, a face plate, and a headset isn't a good deal. But, 475 for all that plus a media remote, another controller, and 50 bucks worth of stuff on the HD, that is more reasonable. I am simply getting frustrated that when people post, they seem to not be taking all the aspects in to consideration is all.

I do appreicate everyones opinion none the less.

A used console is worth $250.......AT MOST!!!

Used controller = $20 at most.

So $270

Maybe $300 if the guy wants to be a jerk. Used with no warranty. Use COMMON SENSE!!!

I wouldn't pay a dime over $300. Just go ahead and be stupid and buy it. Why do you even ask for help when you've already made up your mind?

As for the stupid faceplate. Who gives a ****? Its not a $20 value. Its not brand new. Also the carbon faceplate is UGLY.

The headset....give me a break. Another useless piece of crap. The 360 already comes with a headset. Not to mention plantronics is cheap and uncomfortable.

Please buy the 360 from this guy and get ripped off. I don't like your attitude. People like you deserve to get ripped off.

Quite frankly the TC hasn't done much except argue after asking for advice...

Personally, I would never buy anything like a game console used. There is no telling how its been treated, and warranties exist for a reason.

Point taken, I don't want to screw him however, he has put in over 700 for all this stuff. I can't buy a used wireless controller for 20 bucks. Where I live a used wireless controller costs 40. And yeah I can buy a used core in stores...for 250....not a pro, you can't even buy a used pro in stores. You have to buy a used core, and build up from there or buy a new pro.

I know this guy personally, I play on his 360 on almost a daily basis. I know exactly how he treats his things (hes a neat freak). If this were an item online, then yes I'd ask for cheaper because as someone stated above, I have no clue how the items have been treated. But in this case I do. And I know that all of it is in great condition. So that also ways in to it.

I don't mind people saying it is a good or bad deal, but I'd like to know why everyone says it is a bad deal. I am having a hard time understanding why it is. Sure it isn't a great deal. But if I want to buy all his stuff used at Gamestop or Blockbuster I'd have to dish out 100+ more. So that is why I don't see how it is a bad deal. Sure I can find something cheaper on Ebay, but also, I have no idea of how old the console is and what condition the items are in. In this case I do.

I am not trying to sound like an ass, not by any means, I just want everyone to understand the situtation and so forth and then tell me why it is a bad deal so I can have a point reason of why it is, not on the simple basis of "yeah it is a bad deal. "Why?" "Hell if I know"

wow youve definately done your research. anyways since the warranty is old(i read that he got a new one in 06) make him drop it to 400 because the warranty can be that extra $75 or $50 that you get him to take it down

From what I'm seeing, you want to buy that from your friend, go ahead.

If it was me i wouldn't, I'm on my third 360 now and without a warranty your future is not too good.

Thanks everyone. I'll probably ask him to lower the costs to the ammount that a warranty sells for and then purchase it.
