I'm getting one for Christmas and I'm asking if this would be a good starting set:

XBox games: Ninja Gaiden, Jade Empire, Fable, Halo 2, Knights of the Old Republic, Soul Calibur 2

360 games: Assassin's Creed, Kameo, The Darkness

I know on down the line there's: Devil May Cry 4, Ninja Gaiden 2, Halo 3, Fable 2, Soul Calibur 4 and GTA4..maybe I'll get one a month...well I'm not worried about any of those for a good while.

What about between Perfect Dark Zero, Bioshock, and Gears of War? What would you recommend? And what good XBox Live Arcade games are there?

Between PDZ, Bioshck and Gears I personally woudl ay Bioshock. You may find others that say Gears and it was ok. However I preferred Bioshock more. You really can't go wrong with either of those games. As for PDZ I didn't really care for it. There are better FPS out there for the 360 right now that I would consider before PDZ.

Your starting 360 games should be Gears of War, Bioshock, and Call of Duty 4.

PDZ was "ok" I thought but the biggest annoyance ever in a FPS - you can't jump?!?! What no jumping in a FPS - that's just crazy! LOL

But yeah I thought it was an ok game other than no jumping. :P

Bioshock and Gears I found pretty equal in enjoyment for different reasons.

Gears of War or Bioshock would be good. Skip Halo 3, one of the worst communities I've played in. I didn't think it lived up to the hype. Personally, Madden 09, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, Dead Space, Fable II, GTA IV, Battlefield Bad Company and Gears of War 2. If you have the $$$ then this would be a great starter list.

if you want a good variety and are only getting 3 games go for:

1 shooting game (cod4, halo3, gears etc.)

1 sports game (fifa, nba, nfl etc.)

1 racing game (pgr, mc, nfs etc.)

this will give you a good variety but if you can get a few shooters there are loads of awesome ones.

btw i got sc2 on xbox original the other day and its awesome - but dont get it if you are getting sc4
