is this happening because live is having problems?

last 2 days now, on and off the first 3 pages (marketplace, startup page, and games page) of the dashboard just sit there loading with the little icon. i can go over to the games and system blade and they're there, but everythign else just sits loading.

is this what "problems" the people are talking about?

These aren't the only problems mate, when you try an Play CoD 4, and from what i've heard some other games, it just comes up with 'You need a Network Connection to play online' either implying no Xbox Live has been payed for, or that you have no Ethernet or Wireless doogle in the back of the Xbox, but the loading thing on the dashboard happens to me, i think the Live servers are being stupid or something?

just foudn it strange that my games and system tab are loaded through live, guess its obvious because when i unplug the connection they show up. BobSacamento

yes, when you unplug the connection it loads your profile locally, whereas if your connected, it will see which one is the most up to date, then either sync with the live servers or just load the profile.

I had that a couple times with GRAW2. The most common apart from the obvious ones once you get playing is "This game session is no longer available". which is random to who it happens to as we had a room of 12, half the room got it the rest of us didnt, we kept playing like nothing happened, we finished, went back to the lobby and they had all returned.

Is it if they send you a code that you can use when ever you like, which was what i ment.

im just sayinggamespot period, everyone complains about having to pay 50 bucks a year for live,that just makes me laugh

yeh we have to pay for it and we not able to use it, no one minds paying it's just when the biggest computer company that has some of the smartest computer programmers in the world can't do something as simple as keep xbox live working (come on it should be simple for them) then people tend to get annoyed.spike6958

The update that are put out on Windows Update are released like that intentionally. Microsoft and any programmer in general make things like an OS imperfect on purpose. It make it seem like they are working hard to keep the customers happy when all they are doing is releasing the things they made with the original product, in increments.
