In ffranchise mode, it simulates the league, so there are always trades, drafts, and other factors liek that going on, so maybe that has something to do with it. It also might have something to do with how teams preform in spring training, or maybe thats just the pre-season rankings, and they improve over the season.
Since it is a league sim, things will always be changing and happening, so the ratings are going to be more intuitive, then just the default teams are. I can't give you a specific reason, but its probably a combination of those factors ive mentioned + many more.Â

could be because when i started the pre-season with the chargers their overall rating was 88 their offence was 89 and their defence was 87 but when i finished the pre-season undeafeted my offence and defence went up by 1 point so its 90 offence and 88-defence now. i was suprised that the raider had their ratings in the high 80s Â
