I saw someone post this in a thread, is it true? Links?

"for the last time. bungie are working on 3 projects, halo: chronicles with peter jackson, halo the movie, and the 3rd i forgot. its like halo: forerunner or something."

Well I don't not know about all of those but, Peter Jackson is supposed to be directing Halo the movie although it has been cancelled and started back up many times. Currently status on it's production are unknown, I wouldn't expect to see the movie come out anytime soon sadly.

bungie are indeed working on 3 projects..one is ODST..which is the only one that will be based off halo. the rest might just be new IP's or remakes of old bungie titles.

Hollywood screenwriter, Stuart Beattie,who was responsible forGears of War screenplay for New Line Cinema last year, has writtenthe new Halo script. Word says that Microsoft like it and that they are discussing possible plans for it to be made.

Bettie beleives the old style Halo movie incaration is dead and is ready to release his vision, Halo: The Fall of Reach, a prequel to the first game.

The movie is due out in 2012.

I know Gearbox is making the next gen Halo project and my expectations are really low. I was waiting for Hells Highway for 2-3 years, it looked amazing 3 years ago. It was delayed a 100 times and it was awful.

Yeah i was told that on the gearbox forums, my expectations are high, i dont like bungie, hells highway i enjoyed, gearbox are doing the aliens game atm, theyr research looks awesome and from what ive seen so far it looks good, halo has many references to aliens so its a kick start to halo in a way, it will not be like the current halo at all though, i expect it to be a tactical shooter.

its funny that you made this thread, because i came across that same post just now and it intrigued me too. i do know bungie is working on ODST, the other two projects they are working on are still totally under wraps. some speculate they are making a remake of one of their earlier games, or a new franchise altogether. Also, i have read in many interviews with bungie employees where they say they are sick of halo and want to work on something else. so believe what you will but i seriously doubt what we read was true...

I think PJ's Producing, Not Directing it. I could be wrong though.

Bungie already confirmed that ODST would be the last Halo game that they're making. However, I don't know about Gearbox, but there is Jackson's studio and their Halo game that they're making.

The only Halo project Bungie is currently working on is Halo 3: ODST. As for the whole peter Jackson thing, he isn't working on the halo movie, he's working on a Halo game. Bungie was assisting him in producing it up until they started working on ODST. The movie has gone no where. Just ignore it unless something official is actually said. And the last thing, "Halo: Forerunner" is just a complete fabrication.

To be fair Bungie is treating ODST as an expansion, not a full blown new game. Hence the name Halo 3: ODST

I wouldn't be surprised if Bungie was working on a revamped version of Marathon as one of their projects.

the movie has been delayed becuase of $$$ issues and Peter Jackson is the producer, not the director.

ODST is most likely not going to be the end of halo. they're just going to give it a break. the master chief is to bog of a money maker for them to not make any more Halo games

They are working on 3 projects Halo ODST, they're probably working on another Halo, and they're working on a game outside of the halo universe
