as far as content and streamlining and accessability (sp) yes.  but from someone owning all 3 next-gen consoles, PS3 has better online play.  Most of the 360 games i have bought have had lag issues (saints row, prey...even graw and gears has noticable lag more than i would like)  but on resistance and motorstorm i have barely noticed any.  and when someone does lag, its only a minor jump and it rarely happens.

i dont know if thats lives fault or developers, but I give that point to PS3 whether you guys want to agree with me or not.

So far I have had a ps2 and a Xbox 360 and the 360 and XBL CRUSHES ps2 (of course).  I havent had any trouble with XBL live at all. The $50 is not that big of a deal to me I would rather not pay it but the 13.5 cents a days is well worth it for me. I have not played a ps3 online, so I couldnt speak on it. But I love XBL as of now.

Xbox Live is the best service...by nearly any standard. On consoles you can't really say there's competition, on the PC, it isn't all that user friendly.

Steam beats the crap out of XBL... but on consoles i find that XBL is the best.  the PS3's Playstation Network gets a lot of brownie points solely for being free, but the whole "united gaming network" of XBL takes the cake.  and except for Gears (which doesn't have lag per se, but has a lot of bullet lag unless you are host), i really don't see any lag (in GRAW, R6V, Halo 2, PD0, or CoD3).

i would have to say LIVE is pretty good. i personally liked playing pc games online more but you can't ask for much more with consol gaming onine.
