Is xbox really in 3rd place?

This is a stupid question, that i really don't care about it, but in a recent game spot article, the author said something like "...and microsoft is fighting hard to keep their bronze medal in the systems race..." or something like that. I was always under the impression that the xbox was doing the best, maybe it wasn't selling the most consoles but it was selling the most games, and, thus, making the most money. So, what's the deal? Anyone got some recent numbers...

This isn't a systems war question because i am just asking about the xbox, and thats all i care about.

Make's general sense. XB:360 has been selling longer too. To expect inflation or even maintainability in it's sales is not well expected. XB:360 is still great and seriously NUMBER ONE as far as use, owned, and networked.

As previously said, the Xbox 360 hardware sales is expected to drop seeing as everyone has one. There are also too many biased comments and articles like PS3 amazing, 360 s*cks @ss and vice versa, and each claiming to have evidence supporting it. Sony are buying off game reviewers to give their console an excellent review (games side of it), also everyone who are buying them today are sheep...buying into Sonys hype that THEY thmselves bought. Look out for a free PS3 in your cereal, Sony would do that to stay in the raceNightmare-JD

The 360 is not in last in total units installed even if the Sony PS3 had a sales increase.

And at E3 MS said they are the platform with the most games sold per system so they lead in most software sold.

No the 360 is in second. Everyone knows that Nintendo is going to win this war and hats off to them. They made a really good console. There is no way Sony is going to finish second. Kinda hard when there is only one or maybe 2 games for it. Xbox is 20 times better then the ps3. I love my 360 and I'm glad i got one. Good games,graphics and a good online service.
