There really aren't any consequences for doing it so feel free, unless of course you keep it wrapped in a blanket or something else that would make it a fire hazard or something of the sort.

TC, go to your settings, then go to Shut Down, there's an option called Background Downloads, or something similar, turn it on, you can turn your 360 off and it'll just use a little power to finish downloading at normal speed and then turn itself off comepletely.

I don't see why it's a bad thing, other than wasting power I guess.

A few years back in my college dorm, when Burnout 3: Takedown came out for Xbox Originals I left my xbox on for 3 days so it could download :P

You should be fine!

Congratulations, champs.

TC, if you shut down your console while it's downloading something, it'll power down partially -- it'll continue to download, but without making as much noise or heating as much as usual. If this doesn't happen, you need to turn the feature on at Settings.

Yes its bad, your wasting power and plus thats overheating the xbox 360 promoting the risks of RROD.. It doesn't take long to download a demo, or you could even go to the website marketplace and dl it to the xbox 360.

Why on earth would anyone need to leave it on for hours to download a demo? Demos are usually no more than 2GBs max. I could understand if its games on demand.

If you have a problem with your connection then go buy a new router or so etc... Besides, why would a demo take all night to be downloaded? Thats crazy, it would only take maybe up to 30 mins to an hour or 2. That shouldn't take all night. But basically it depends on how big it is, 2 GB like I said will maybe take up to 30 mins to an hour or 2, it also basically depends on how fast your connection is. Leaving it on all night often wastes electricity and overheating the xbox 360.

Sorry to go off this topic: Say that theres a USA server and you are european, it would take a little while to connect as the server is USA and you are connecting from Europe.

So my answer once again is yes that its bad, the reason is what I explained above.

Why does everyone keep giving him advice on his internet connection? He's already stated that he needs to leave it on overnight, so why don't you just let him go with the feature specifically designed for his issue?
