It is impossible to talk to random people now over Xbox live.

I guess it is good we do not have to run into idiots anymore, but they helped give Xbox live personality.

i still hear funny chatter over the mic in games like call of duty. or halo social team deathmatch .battlefield everyone is quiet.

also you can chat with people on arcade coop games.

The party system has been around for like a year and a half now and you're just now complaining about it? I really can't say it's any worse. The vast majority of randoms I met weren't interested in strategizing, just complaining, yelling, cursing and being annoying. I'll take this over what we to deal with before any day.vashkey

I remeber making a thread like this in SW in 09. Anyway which zone do you play in, I always stuck to pro and found a lot of users willing to work together.

I second this. Sure I rarely get into hysterical arguments over stupid reasons (Like people's voices, background music, age, sex, race, etc...) but it sure beats having to get into the really bad arguments where you wonder if the other person has ever had an independent/slightly complexthought.

Agreed. Unless you in some type of clan, its pretty much you against the world. But all that aside, I wouldn't change it at all. I personally am no longer a fan of playing oneline unless I'm playing with friends.

But those are the ones you laugh at later. Also I hate when my friends drag me into a party(sometimes I just click appear offline), so we can talk about what happened in clss today. Xbox live is becoming facebook/myspace.

Yeah, and we usually talk about our day for a couple of minutes and then go back to silence playing our separate games. Eventually one person will say "Wanna play something?" and we both end up playing the same game.

Its also funny when the other person forgets you're there and starts complaining about something in the game.

The last time I really played in game chat was when I played Gears of War. Then it was fun and I met some cool people that I still occasionally play with today. However, I mostly find myself playing with friends in party chat or private chat. It's easier to talk to them with others not getting in the way. Ghost_702

Gears of War had the worst online community I've ever played in. The cursing, the racist remarks, the out right stupidity of most people, the bragging, the complaining, I could go on. I hated the Gears of War community. People think Halo 3 had it bad, play one game of Gears of War with a couple competitive guys in their 20's. I think I learned a few curse words while playing.

If you want to listen to screaming... Go play MW2... Plenty of kids and plenty of no party chat enabled game modes...

Ya. Anybody who talks now is only talking to be annoying aswell.

For starters, you can only talk to three other people in Battlefield Bad Company 2 since you can only have a total of four in your squad. Second, invite these people to a party if you want to talk to them or join theirs if they have one. If they don't join or don't have one then obviously they don't want to talk to people and party chat is not the problem.
