I dunno what it is. I recently got a 26 inch HDTV but for some reason the whole image wont fit in some games. The TV itself can go upto 720p/1080i and I adjusted my 360 to do 720p.It looks great but for some reason on the sides of the screen it seems like the picture is cut off a little bit. Anyone understand what I am talking about and how to Fix this. Also if i helps I got a Sylvania type TV with no remote lol (The remote they gave me was the wrong one).
What TV did you buy? Is it 16:9 or 16:10? Are you using the component cable to hook it up to your TV? Did you change the little swith that's on the component cable? The one that says "SD or HD"? Did you check if your TV has some funky modes like "4:3", or "landscape" or "stretched"? You can usually set that up through you remote control. That's all I can think of by now.

Thats a problem. I got the wrong remote and I am waiting for th right one to come in the mail.
I've seen similar issues with my Panasonic tv (it's a really old HD tv not even widescreen) and also with my friends RCA prjection). The picture is great but it seems like they cut off part of where subtitles are or certain info on the HUDs on some games. It's not bad enough to mess up game play just enough to be annoying. So far I haven't found a way to fix it though.
I dont know anything about television settings but I got the totally wrong thing in my head when I read the thread title... I thought you just wanted to cause trouble...

haha yea...oh uhh i guess this is too the OP: i had the same exact problem, i have a 19" Westinghouse LCD and i set it to 720p and i had that problem i set it to 1080i and it was fixed.... so idk if itll work for but thats all i had to do

I tried putting it at 1080i and it still had the same problem except instead of the bottom the problem was on the top.
what is your tv model? It's aspect ratio is probably 16:10 instead of 16:9. I noticed the same thing playing bioshock then looked through my TVs settings and it was on Zoom instead of 16:9. Now I just have to play with small black bars on the top and bottom of my screen but since the tv is black you barely notice it.
