PC advantages: You get a lot of good games and access to all those games that only will work for the PC
Xbox360 pros: Well Halo wars a great rts is EXCLUSIVE to the console and there are many and i mean many games for Xbox360 if you get halo 3 gears GTA that will keep you till almost everything else GOW2 Fable 2 etc... FF13...
Suggestion get the 300$ spend about 1/4 of your cash on the 360 get a game and get gold member ship also extra controller and you will be good.
Get your PC upgraded even though i think Xbox 360 is better i would suggest spending some money to make sure your comp is good.
After that you may have 100$ left either hold it or get GTAIV and gears for a good starter library for 360... see 360 has a lot of exclusives and also games that really ONLY play well on the 360 and some for PC like for Halo 2 I actually liked Xbox better but with Call of duty 4 i thought both versions were good and i thought for Orange box the same but think of Halo wars for the PC i dont think that would work without MAJOR changes. All i need from a PC is WoW and the games on IJJI and portal really... but im casual when it comes to PC (long time ago i made a thread trying to decide PC or console and i priced everything i would need to get my computer up to par... after shipping and tax 200$ video card 1gb of ddr2 ram 50$ a Fan 25$ a Power supply 50$ mother board 75$ for a decent one... and Processor 220$ 520$ which is seriously not worth it and to make due for like half a year playing crysis on low and call of duty 4 on medium untill the next game I would have to go with 220 $ GPU (Different computer) and 67$ for a gb of ram. 25$ for extra cooling fan. Then we add the game Cod4 would cost for me 407$ mainly cause the processor in my other computer my dad uses is a duel core but is bus is not the best and lack of a good video card... oh and dont forget even when i get the 360 I still have to get WoW game card... great right? so thats 440$ while if i go to microsoft i save 40$ ( and i already got tax figured in the 400$).
Wow see how much computers will cost see i even can tell if I do minimum upgrades in 1 year i gotta pay 440$ again while i dont have to do squat to upgrade it... 10$ more for NEW games which after i manage to get 4 games in the first year then it would have taken about 6 months to get there and then it would have cost more like 550$ to keep up with the gen so look at it like this for me I can jump ahead of the gen with me being in pretty bad debt ( i would borrow from parents and never good) and then they can pretty much take my money away if they feel like it untill i pay them back. So 550$ to be able to stay in a good spot in the Computer to not have to even consider upgrades for... 2-3 Years while Xbox 360 has atleast another 5 years to live but i could be wrong so 450 to keep up with this gen 550(630 with a game and WoW card) to just Jump ahead for a long time. thats over 2 times the 360 price... IMO get 360 no matter what PC should also take a good portion (BTW how bad is your computer outdated...)
