I've been a PC gamer for quite a while now. I have a Geforce 8800gt and have been impressed with it. Unfortunately, some games are not being made for PC anymore, so I decided to get an Xbox 360. I bought GTA 4 and Halo 3 and was dissapointed to see all the jagged lines and edges (aliasing) everywhere. I started researching and found that many people have the same issue. First I thought my screen wasn't good enough (I have it hooked up to my computer monitor) so I went out and bought a 24" HD widescreen monitor with HDMI, DVI and VGA hook ups, capable of resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 and 1080p. Well guess what, jagged edges still there. Digging some more I found out it depends on whether or not the game manufacturer enables anti-aliasing in their games which will determine this. Of course most pc games have this option available for the user and if not you can override it with other software to force anti-aliasing. I have posted some pictures of the quality I get with my pc (click to enlarge). As you can see the edges are real smooth with some small jaggies in the distances, but still far less than what I see on the Xbox 360

Call of Duty 4

Grid

Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Unreal Tournament 3

Mass Effect

I'm not trying to crack down on Xbox 360 as I was impressed with the quality of NBA Live 2008. This post is pretty much to see what games you play on xbox that have similar quality to the pictures above, what kind of display your using with what kind of hookup, and what display settings are you using?

I'd say play a few more games. GTAIV and Halo 3 do have that problem, especially Halo 3. Game looked great, but way, WAY too man jags.

wow i was at the same spot with you. i had a 8800gt and bought a xbox360 for gta4 and was annoyed about the lack of anti aliasing but i get used to it after 2-3 months. most of the games don't have aa problem. but it's really a big shame on gta4 to don't have full aa.

That is great to know, I'm going to return the xbox version today. Yet no decent nascar game for pc. Nascar 2003 season's got the realism, but not the graphics of today's standards, plus it's like $100 on ebay. Maybe EA Sports will come to their senses.

Wow what an unfair thread. Of course every PC game will have no jags simply because any video card today can crank AA to 16x. While only a few 360 games will only go as high as 2x. It's pretty much a no competition deal.

I'm not trying to compete, I'm just trying to see if there are xbox 360 games that use aa in some form and will look decent enough on my screen. If you look at gaming popularity then consoles beat pcs by far.
