Well i just went and picked up my copy of madden 10 at gamestop and it was interesting. I thought i wasnt going to get my damn copy that i already had payed for through store credit. Well apperenitly the guy working there looked at my receipt and asked me for my home number so i gave it to him and then he said well i cant find anything anyhere and your receipt says the 12th not the 13th. I was like what the hell i was here tuesday trading in some games and i paid the rest of what i owed tuesday. Well he goes but your receipt says the 12th not the 13th and i said that shouldnt matter just give me my damn game. The girl that was there tuesday was there also and i said well she is the one that checked me out and gave me my reciept and she goes i didnt do that, i said like hell u didnt and give me my damn game or give me my money and my games i traded in. They go ok nevermind there it is and all he had to do was look at the bottom of the receipt and there it was. I was pissed but i finally got my game and i told them i will never ever pre-order anything else again here. I just showed me how stupied they are and how they cant get there stuff right and try and i mean try to rip a customer off. I wont be going there no more. Has anyone else had problems with gamestop and anyother store before?

That isn't really Gamestop as a wholes fault. You just live near an awful store run by idiots. All they should of done was looked you up through your customer ID if you still had the reciept.

I almost have a hard time believing this story.. but people really are this stupid. :?

I never go to gamestop. used games are cheaper on amazon anyway, and you don't have to deal with them overtly trying to screw you. From "new" games that aren't sealed, to crappy used prices, to douchy employees, I never go there.

I agree they just keep trying to screw customers over and over again. Well i live close to like 3 other games stores and well i will just go to gamecrazy from now on they are much much better. I just might look into amazon also and see what they have to offer. NO MORE GAMESTOP FOR ME!!!!

I never really had problems with Gamestop, though I kind of stopped shopping there when I recieved my first new, open game, just didn't like the practice or the idea. I've heard a lot of bad stories about them, so I'm glad I don't shop there anymore because it doesn't seem like it would be worth the hassel. I just prefer to shop at Amazon, in the end I can usually get a new game for less than Gamestop is selling used for and the service is a 100x better. I would shop at Amazon even if the price were higher because I think they are worth it, but the low prices is always a nice perk!

On a good note for Gamestop (:? dangerous territory, I know) the one good thing I got from Gamestop since being a gamer was my Wii. My family took advantage of one of the raincheck offers they had and was able to get me a Wii, so I was quite thrilled. However, they did require 100% deposit on the system and I was totally flippin' when I found that out because I was worried until I got it that there would be issues with it and they not have the system, in the end it all worked out, so everything is good! Even with that, I still don't think I would want to deal with Gamestop.

Yeah that is more the stupid employees, not Gamestop. And no offense or anything, but try not to pass judgment on other people's intelligence when your grammar and spelling... leaves something to be desired.

always wondered if it was just me that kept getting "new" games that were already opened (and played?)...
one had scratches already.
other than that, never had a problem.

I traded in $60 worth of games the last time I was there. I was going to get cash but the clerk stopped me and said that if I took cash they deduct 30%, which would leave me with $30 in cash... wha?

I work at gamestop, dont stone me to death guys.

i dont agree with the trade in value either but all of that is already in the computer. we dont have any control over it.

the reason we take out games is to prevent theft. I work on the shady side of town, and everyone and their mom tries to steal stuff.

Bad service is universal, its not only found at gamestop like many people on here will try to make it out to be. Perhaps your local gamestop is terrible, well its not every store, I use to go to a gamestop that was great, great people worked there and I actually use to just hang out in there chatting with them if I needed to kill time. Now I live by one that isn't very impressive, cant be helped but its not every single one of them.

i used to work at gamestop, they deduct 20%, not 30%.
and $30 would be 50% ? so either your cashier was really stupid, or else you are.

I believe he deducted 30% because of a promotion. Like the trade in 2 or more and get an extra 10%.

Yesterday I traded in 7 games for $133 so I have nothing to complain about. I've never had a problem with gamestop or ebgames.

Same here. I use GameStop all the time. In fact, I'm going there later today.
