Based on the stats it only took me 5 1/2 hours to do it. It was a decent "game" but now that I think back on it, it was kind of repetitve. I quote the word game because it was filled with QTEs(Quick Time Events). Good game, but not worth $60.

Your thoughts and how long did it take you to complete it.

The campaign isn't the game's focal point, unfortunately I found the campaign to be the best part of the entire package, but still, no one buys a a gmae that is designed around multi and then complains about the campaign being short. You should know what you're getting yourself into. As for the campaign itself, I thought it was excellent. Best of the CoD campaigns so far in that it was epic despite having to suspend your disbelief for the story, and it got rid of respawning enemies which Black Ops inexplicably revived.

Agreed, but I would NEVER pay $60 for a single player game. I bought it new for $35 or $40 the day it came out and still thought it would have been a rip off just for single player but the multiplayer makes the game (yes, I know the mp was flawed too). I thought it was really repetitive too (like all shooters) and only like ***SPOILERS*** the level where you were going through an American neighborhood, it was something new and kind of dramatic. I think it took around 6 hours and I was very glad when it was over. I felt the same way about Black Ops too except the mp sucks so I got rid of it right away, thankfully made a profit on it.

Heh, took me exactly 5 h and 30 mins to beat it as well. Only paid $40 for it though a couple months after release and got about 30 hours out of the MP before I was sick of it.

It took me about the same time, but I also did multiple playthroughs (for Veteran), but I also bought the game mainly for the multiplayer because I can't think of many multiplayer focused shooters than have a good single player. And when I say good I mean memorable and I don't mean memorable because the new main character each mission keeps dieing by the end (that is more so directed at World at War).

They should just said screwed the campaign and 2x the amounjt of Mp maps and called it a $60 game.... I'm sure more people wuld been more happy

SHOOT Homefront SP camapign is 10x better that blk crap

dont remember how long it took, but i didnt find it as difficult on veteran as previous CoD games. MP usually has the bulk of the replayability anyway

modern warfare COD4 had the best sp and mp in the series.I think while mw2 sp was just ok mp was good just quick scoping and knife runner kinda take the fun out of it at time, and blops sp is the worst out of the three of thembut mp is fun with wager mode and zombies the only thing that take it down is poor hit markers and everyone using silencers and hardliner.

It was the glitches that truly take the fun out of it... basically activision said screw you we got a billion dollars but we arn't going fix are MP game breaking glitches. toke over 5 months before first patch to fix glitches that was all posted over you tube. I stopped playing it 100% afther 8 months yet still had emergengy care package glitch and mor.e

A bit late, don't you agree?

I didn't mind the campaign even though I found it very repetitive. I guess that's what you get when playing CoD games. I suggest you play Black Ops campaign, because it was actually really good.

most people buy these types of games for their online play, not so much their campaign

there are several games out there made solely for campaign and not so much online play

for example, bioshock and assassins creed

Oh really? Off the top of my head: Breach sections scattered throughout, mountain climbing section at the begining, knife part at the ended, and various other "place bomb here", "grab x rope"... Its more QTE than game.

First off, MW2 was made for multiplayer. You should be thankful that they even include a campaign. Second, the campaign isn't the only SP portion. There's also spec-ops, which is 100x times harder than the campaign. I hated playing Spec-Ops but some people find it fun, so you should try it out.

So you are saying there are more QTE than normal game play in MW2? Thats not saying there are just more of them, but they are actually the majority of what you do in the game because I honestly don't remember that 5 hour campaign being 2 and a half hours or more of just QTEs, but then again that is just me.

Also most people do not consider one button press objects a QTE. For example the breaching, placing a bomb, or grabbing a rope won't be considered QTEs by most. If they involved pressing more than one button in a certain pattern then people would consider them QTEs

Of course you could be like me and think everything it essentially a QTE without a set sequence and time limit. Think about it, a QTE is just an event that requires a certain pattern of buttons to be pressed in sequence within a set limit of time and each button is associated with a certain action. Isn't regular game play similar in that each button is associated with a certain action and that we are supposed to use these buttons to perform the actions needed at the time, but that it just doesn't matter the sequence we use them in or limit of time (sometimes limits of time are used such a cool downs, which are the opposite of what QTEs usually do).

I think the problem is the definition of QTEs. How is a slow motion breach and clear a "QUICK time event"? Also, just because you have to press buttons to make things happen doesn't mean it's a QTE. If the game told us "press X B Y A not to fall from the mountain" that would be a quick time event. As it is you just hold down the trigger as if you were holding on to the icepick no to fall. I call that immersion. And don't mistake on-screen prompts for QTEs either, "press X to activate" is in mostly every game

I agree on it being repetitive, I don't understand how it can be so popular when there are loads of better games.

...and I disliked both.

Well alright, the campaign wasn't awful but definitely not worth the same price as a 30-70 hour game. Some of the missions were just baffling how difficult they were.

30-70 hours? This is an FPS, not an RPG.
