I finally finished The Force Unleashed this morning, which is good cause it was two days overdue at the video store anyways. Overall I feel very satisfied with the game (issues and all) and thought the story was well written and added to the Star Wars universe pretty well.

Some things that gave me trouble now and again were the camera can get a little out of place at the wrong time but that didn't prevent me from moving on to the next destination. The dreaded Star Destroyer level took me about 30 minutes to get the strategy and timing down to beat it. If I replayed that level now I could probably beat it within 6-8 minutes. Yes, there are some cheap shots in there such as game glitches knocking me back and not allowing me to move forward on the ramp, once hit by a Tie fighter blast I get pushed over the edge and fall to my death.

Lightsaber duels were fun and using force powers were not as hard as I thought they would be. Sometimes the AI will abuse their power a little and cheap shot you till you die, but not too much. All in all it was fun, but I am glad that I rented it cause it would probably only take a few days of realistic gaming time to beat it so you might be kicking yourself in the head for paying $60 for it now when you probably could get it used for $40 something after Christmas.

Money factor is important to me cause there are just too many games I want to play and not enough money to buy them with so I at least can rent and beat games that aren't very long (example: Force Unleashed, Silent Hill Homecoming, Brothers in Arms) while buying the big titles that will last longer such as Fallout 3, Fable 2, and so on.

I think Force Unleashed as received some unnecessary flak, and this game should at least be rented and beat for fun, cause that is what it is, Fun!

Anyone else's thoughts?

Was a potentially great game spoiled by some unforgivable bugs (particularly unforgivable seeng how long they delayed it) and some targetting issues.

I'm at the Star Destroyer bit now, and it's one of the biggest disappointments I've experienced in gaming. What could've been the game's set piece is randered down to mind-numbing tedium. I lost my rhythm somewhere in the 20 minute mark and got killed and it's frankly going to take a lot for me to bother going through that again.

Meanwhile I had to contend with some horribly buggy boss fights. Shaak Ti worked in my favour as I was somehow able to kock her in the Sarlaac pit which killed her instantly from 30% health and I cleared the level with no QTE. However in the PROXY fight, I somehow was able to knock him over the edge twice in a row, killing him instantly rendering me invincible and stuck on the platform indefinitely.

On the upside, the plot is really good, and as a Star Wars fan, I'll probably find the time to sit through that mind-numbing Star Destroyer sequence again...maybe.

Iv'e got 1000/1000 on this and the Star Destroyer part is easy. I Done it in a couple of minutes it on sith master. Force lightening can take out the Ties quickly. Never got stuck in any glitches or anyhting. But yeah the targeting system was a waste of time.

People complaining about the Star Destroyer are probably Force Pulling the cores and trying to fling them at the attacking Tie Fighters. Once I started Pulling and using Lightning on them, it was cake.

The bugs I encountered were more annoyances than game breakers. And the targeting... once you realize that you autotarget based on your character's orientation, and not the camera's the problem was solved. Smoothe sailing from that point on. The criticisms leveled at the game all seem a bit overblown.

Let's focus on what the game does right. Level design was solid. The levels themselves are beautiful. Using the Force had a visceral quality to it that's missing in many other Star Wars games. And the story is really top notch for me.

I genuinely enjoyed the game.

The one thing I really like about this game is the characters. I like Starkiller so much more then Ani (I sound like a 3 year old throwing a fit) Skywalker from the movies. He is what i expected Aniken to be like when Clone Wars hit the theaters 5 years ago. It was worth putting up with the bugs just to see the story and characters develop. So for those of you who haven't played it all the way through I encourage you to keep on truckin cause the story is really good for this game.

I loved this game. It had a fantastic level design, interesting story and using force powers was a satisfying experience in my opinion. The Star Destroyer annoyed med the first time I tried it, but I slept it over and went back at it again, finishing the destroyer in just a few minutes.

The good stuff about the game made me forget about those that where not as they could, and should have been. I loved the overall experience and sincerely believe it should have hot atleast 8,0 as a score.

A regular gamer would like this action packed game, a fan of star wars is going to adore it. And if you are a fan, there is no reason for a rent, buy it and experience a great game.:)

Unlike a lot of people here the only bugs I encountered was a targetting isue here and there, but that's not something that I don't experience in any game with a targetting system. Overall it was very enjoyable, I loved the story and since it sold so well we have a chance at a sequel.
