So I just bought my 360 yesterday, got a Jasper arcade and bought the hard drive, and I also bought a Microsoft VGA cable with it. After setting up the console on my LCD monitor with my native resolution I was disappointed at the picture quality because for computer games my monitor (to me at least) has amazing quality. I tried a CRT and it still looked the same, fuzzy and not very vibrant. Just out of curiosity I tried my 14" Toshiba SDTV and to my surprise it actually looked better than the LCD/CRT did. So here's the situation. I like the picture quality on my little TV but it's just that..it's incredibly small.

I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on a good 32 or so inch LCD HDTV. I'd prefer to spend under 600 dollars, but I'm open to all suggestions. Seeing as the 360 is in the bedroom, a 32" will do just fine. I'm more partial to brands like Sony/Samsung/Panasonic, but if a lesser known brand has a high quality tv in that size range, I would definitely consider it. Thanks if you can help me pick out a TV!

PS. The 360 owns, and I love GTA4 and Halo 3. This month I'll be picking up Tales of Vesperia, Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil 5, and probably both Gears games. Looking forward to it!

Yeah dude i'm gettin ready to buy a 32inch tv myself, ive been researching good deals and awesome TV's for a few weeks now and reading lots of customer opinions. I've narrowed it down to a few choices.

Samsung: 32" 720p HDTV LN32A450 $550.00

Vizio 32" 1080p Full HD VO32LF $599.00

Both of these TV's seem to be solid choices with great prices. Hope it helps, each of them has 2 or 3 HDMI inputs and a PC imput for switching to use it as a monitor also. Check em' out and read the reviews of both, its worth a look!

I have a 32 inch Vizio 1080p that I bought from Costco for 569. I love it and it looks great. I was in the same situation as you, I wanted an affordable gaming LCD TV and was partial to Sony and Samsung (which is what I have in my living room). You will see people bashing Vizio because it is not name brand and cheaper. I have compared it to friends' and my own more expensive tvs and I actually think the Vizio is better on the gaming side. Just keep this in mind, I was skeptical at first, and was fully ready to return it if it didn't meet my expectations. I couldn't be happier with the purchase I made, it is definitely worth giving a shot.

So I was checking what kind of TV's the stores around here sold, and only one of them sold Vizios, and they didn't have the one that was mentioned in this thread. I'm not so great with TV's, but would these two things work good? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9222646&type=product&id=1218062424206 and then this to hook up the 360 to it, I honestly don't know anything about HDMI.. if the TV says it has HDMI inputs, do you only need a cable like this for both picture and sound? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882339024

By far the best brand of HDTV you can buy is Bravia, preferably the XBR series. You can probably get a 32" in the price range you're at. Bravias typically have the best contrast ratio, widest viewing angels, most inputs, and near-perfect presets

The only reason they sell is they are cheap.. it's better to pay a bit more and get a better tv.

Unless your room is always insanely bright there is no reason to go for LCD unless you just really can't afford a bigger Plasma...

Generally (unless its LED lit) plama TVs on the whole will give you much better contrast ratio (blacker blacks)- and a better experience in terms of gaming due to the fact that there is little to no motion blur with plasma... whereas LCD definitely suffers from this (unless, again, you pop for more expensive LCD - 120Hz- and even then its gonna suffer from some blurring in fast games)

If you can afford it, go plasmas... especially Panasonic, Pioneer, Samsung, or LG- best ones IMO.

If you can pop for it this one - $879.97- 600Hz sub-field drive Plasma with 30,000:1 contrast ratio.

No tax, and free shipping. Plus, Vanns has an amazing return policy. DO NOT BUY FROM WAL-MART... overpriced...

I have a 42" Plasma and I get comments all the time on how good my 360 games via HDMI look on it... I would not want any smaller either- its HD- you want the big picture! Good luck.

Personally i'd stay away from sony to be honest, unless your going for 40" plus.. At such a small screen size there are exceptionally better tv's out there really you are just paying for a "name." Take a good look at sony's in the 32" range, the contrast ratio is so low especially in the Bravia TV's..there's a reason you can get one for 400 bucks at any best buy...go look at one and compare it to a samsung 32" or a Vizio 32" ..you'll see.
