Very fun game, and the online was quite fun...sure it's only co-op but still fun never the less (unless you buy the add on which adds online other than co-op, which should've been free from the get go). Other than that it's a must get game.
i bought it and played through it in a day. online multiplayer is a pay thing so that pissed me off. it was a same day release thing too so they were just screwing people. i wished i rented it. re4 is a far batter game.

The game is excellent. Like a video game equivalent of a high-budget hollywood action flick. As for the online, it's alright. Co-op story is nice. Mercenaries mode is joygasmic with a friend.
My youngest son got it for his Bday this past Friday. HE beat it by Saturday. Seems to love it, but he is a RE freakaholic and has been since he was born. So your views may be different.

Negative...RE5 is graphically astounding...therfore I'll take it over RE4 any day.Just because it has better graphics makes it a better game? RE4 is much different and fore more hardcore croud. And the graphics are still pretty decent. Graphics don't make a game good.

i never bought it but i played it and if you were looking for a good survival horror game, Dead Space is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. but overall its still a good game though just not "Resident" Evil worthy imo...

Same day release? If you mean the VS mode was on marketplace the day RE5 was released it wasn't..
re5 is a great game my only quam with it would prolly be that you could not upgrade the weapons quite like you could in 4... recoil reduction and what not... overall though a fantastic buy
Aight. The game DOES have amazing graphics. But COME ON, how can you make a shooter where you are unable to move the character while your shooting. That is ridiculous. That ruined it for me. Sorry.

The only strength to RE5 is, "it looks puuuuurdy" apparently...It was an extremely simple game. No decent puzzles, no scares. In short everything that made the Resident Evil series great it wasn't. It was a gimped version of Gears of War, where you character moves like a tank with no cover system. But it's Puuurdy. RE4 was so much better. If it's the direction they are going count me out for 6.

RE5 is a game w/ pretty good value. There's coop, and mercenaries mode which gives you the interaction option. You can buy vs mode of the marketplace, but I'm guessing online is probably dead or will be dead by next year (unless they make vs free then it'll probably last another 6 months). Also if you're the type that likes to collect things there's tons of collectibles, and unlocks in the game.
It's been a while since I played RE4, but I think I like 5 better. I like having a partner helping me out, and I liked the weapons better. As always the story is stupid crazy, but it's not like I expect 5 to be any different. The only thing 5 doesn't do that 4 does is the short changing of ammo. It seemed like ammo in 4 was actually scarce which I didn't like.
lag free online, of course. it's amazing the first 30 hours or so, then it goes downhill. I played the game for 40 hours total and now I can't even play it anymore. it disgusts me. great game though lol :P
