Just got my elite...and im not amused

Try doing the basics first. Check all the connections going from your x-box to the tv. I'm not sure if the HDMI comes with it but make sure to check the cable over and look for anything that might be effecting the connection. It could also be your tv that is causing the issue. Try different settings on your tv. Just mess around with things before you give up but don't wait too long on taking it back..

Well I just got an elite after my core broke. Don't get me wrong i love my elite but whenever i try to play a video my screen goes blank. I can hear the music but can not see the video, im using HDMI and running my lcd on 720p standard. I'm thinking i got a bad HDMI cable any help is appreciated. I hate returning items especially something as hard to find as an elite. Thank god i have a warrenty on my tv and my new box...HELPBeerbongsavage

take the online updates on your new elite, mine only showed half of the screen when i first got it, and after the update it worked perfectly.

with hdmi u either get a signal or u dont so if your getting sound you should be getting video too so its either the tv or the xbox

are you running sound into a reciever or just the tv
