But no single player? For 60 bucks? They should have released it at $30. Half price for half a game. I'll give the demo a try though.ironwarrior2
Yeah but look at the battlefield series that is basically multiplayer only, but with bots in single. I think that if the game-play holds up and the general enjoyment of the game is high, yeah it worth 60, the only problem right now is if it sells allot there will be no new maps for a while because FASA studios has been disassembled so it really needs to sell well, also if we really want the RPG version of ShadowrunÂ

It's not been officially confirmed that FASA studios has been disbanded, that was a rumor started by a disgruntled temp-employee. Though FASA is really just a team at this point and not an independant studio anyway. They are just a group within MS that worked on this game - in fact most of them are from the Bungie team. I suspect that you will see FASA whenever a Shadowrun game (or possibly a second Crimson Skies) game is produced. They just assemble a team within MSGS and call them FASA. The FASA team has said they will be releasing DLC maps. They have also said that (as you pointed out) they are waiting to see how well this game does before deciding whether to produce an RPG or not. God knows all of the SR fans want the RPG - so let's hope this iteration of SR does well enough. :)
FASA is no more? Dang, I was hoping for MechAssult 3.ironwarrior2
If the company is no more does that mean we won't see any new map packs???
FASA is no more? Dang, I was hoping for MechAssult 3.ironwarrior2
Read my post above - this is a nasty rumor at this point and they are an internal MS team anyway - so they will never really be gone. They will just come and go as a certain game calls for the team.

no it hasnt, FASA isnt going any where. They are already making DLC. Go read the official shadowwrun forums."This game is light, lighter in modes and maps than any other multiplayer shooter that comes to mind. Gears, Rainbow Six, GRAW and Call of Duty 3 all offer more online action than Shadowrun, as well as solid single-player campaigns. But Shadowrun doesn't even have online basics like persistent statistics, rankings, characters or leaderboards. This wouldn't be such a problem if this game were not priced at $59.99. In terms of plain value, Shadowrun doesn't stand a chance.
Gliding and teleporting will probably hold your attention for a few weeks, but it's hard to recommend a purchase of Shadowrun with so many gaffes in presentation and odd design decisions. True, there's no online shooter quite like Shadowrun, but that doesn't mean there are not five or six better options already available."
I really dont know why you guys are complaining so much about the score. I could understand if it was just gamespot giving it a low score but just about everyone is. ign gave it a 6.8. And if anyone can argue with these paragraphs from the review let me know.yeah the developers made some weird design decisions, but they actually didn't want stat tracking in the game because it clearly promotes cheating. only if this game shipped for $50 with 15 maps "This game is light, lighter in modes and maps than any other multiplayer shooter that comes to mind. TBH its just an opinion and if i say this is the most fun I have had on my 360 so theres really no way anyone can say that Im wrong because its my opinion.
I am LOVING it. Can't belive it got as low as a 6.9. Flip that score around, man! Well, I wouldn't actually flip it around, but still. 6.9, that sucks.destinhparkNow do you see why some of us have been so pissed, and how absurd it is to say that this game is worth less than Tomb Raider: Legend? I'm glad you like it. There will be a lot more of these threads as people get their hands on the demo, I think/hope.

The team now works for Microsoft, and according to the team's comments on the SR site, we are getting new maps, classes, gametypes etc. within a few months.I am LOVING it. Yeah, but I don't sweat over scores. The main factor on how a game should score if fun, which is completly subjective. And I've been hearing that the GS staff member who reviewed Shadowrun doesn't own it, or didn't even play it.... or something to that effect. But regardless the games score took a pounding due to it's lack of SP, maps, and gametypes. And with word of new maps on the way, and the fact that I am drowning in game swith great SP, I can really enjoy the great, immersive, online multiplayer experience that Shadowrun offers. This game is jsut plain fun, which makes it AAA in my books. And when it comes to the games you play, your books are the only ones that really matter.

Yeah, Jeff said you could see everything the game has to offer in 3 hours (how long he played it?) which shows he didn't try and experiment with variations on the thousands of potential character builds this game allows. Someone checked his gamertag and he didn't have the 'played all the maps achievement.'I am LOVING it. The score doesn't reflect how much you'll like the game, but rather the game's techincal merits in the eyes of the reviewer. It has MANY shortcomings, but I still enjoy the game.

And it deffinetly would be fun to have a deathmatch gametype, Im tired of team mates not protecting the artifact.

I had no problem paying $49.99 for the XBOX version of Counter-Strike back in the day and it didn't have a single player. Just bot matches. I literally played CS for 6 months straight, until Pandora Tomorrow came out. And looking back now, that was the first XBL game I ever played and still have fond memories of the times I spent playing it.

Yeah man, I can now see why that score is totally bogus. People should be pissed, because sure, the game doesn't have as much content as other shooters, but I think he should have based the review on the fun factor of the game, and to me, the "fun factor" is pretty damn high. I'd give the game at LEAST an 8. I mean come on.
Yeah, hopefully alot of people will be playin' the demo, too. The game rocks. Rethink your review, jeff.
6.9 or not, this is one of the most fun online experiences I've had since counter strike.
And by the way, I still play counter strike on xbox. how about anyone else? still rocks.
