i got my 360 earlier today and the first thing i wanted to do was to connect to xbox live, so i just plugged in my ~2 year old router and got to work. of course, it didn't work, so i did a power cycle for both my modem and my router and tried again. i looked up some stuff online and it didn't really help. i even called the 4-MY-XBOX service and argued with a retarded robot for 15 minutes. nothing seems to work.

for clarity, when i go to 'test connection', the box recognizes the router and ip adress but stops at the dns. if anyone has had a similar problem, please help me. i don't want to blow a hundred dollars on the wireless networking adapter.

When I used a wireless system I had to put the DNS of my computer into the 360 Network Settings. Click Start, then Run, put in cmd (all lower case), and type in ipconfig /all (the underlined need to be typed letter for letter).

I had DNS a couple of times before, the reason I got is because there was something wrong with the internet and xbox live wasn't able to recognize it.

This is the exact problem I've been having lately.
