Just played halo 1&2 again and......

The main game in 2 is much better than I remembered, its just a shame its so dark most of the time and you really seem to miss the story, which is very good. But halo 1, .......... what a game. Its so much better than 2, even more than I remembered, its much more fun and even the multiplayer is more fun IMO. Sure 2 looks better but its number 1 for me all the way.

I hope H3 multiplayer is more like the original, after playing the beta I dont think it will be and now only the main game interests me (maybe I'm just growing out of it IDK), but you never know.

Anyone agree?

1 was decent, and 2 was complete bollocks (aside from the multiplayer)

Halo really is the most overrated series.

In the past two years, I have replayed Halo 1 many times. ( so many, I'm embarrassed to say)

I have replayed Halo 2 a few times ,and I never have the amount of fun playing 2, as I do 1.

Based on the quality of play in Halo 2, I will be in no rush to get halo 3.

Same here. I don't really like the setting it was in. And if you don't like a game's setting, it can't really be that much fun even if the game is great. The shining armours and colourful enemies really didn't appeal to me.

So I cleared Halo Combat Evolved but I didn't really like it. The setting of Gears of War or FEAR for example appeal to me much more. I could almost say Halo is children's warfare because of it's colours and what not. It's just not for me.

If other people enjoyed it that's great for them. That's why it's great the 360 has a good variety in game styles. There is something there for everyone.

I agree, I couldnt really take the enemy units seriously in this game.

In gears of war you get huge-ass frightening locusts and giant spider-like corpsers who make the game feel real MAN like.

Whereas in Halo you get colorful squeeky voiced covenant who have disco flashing guns and swords. Yeh I know theres the flood but still those little crawling pests arent exactly intimidating either.

I really hope the single player is fun because I love the story & sp in th first two. I'm going to invite friends over soon after I get halo3 and we're going to play co-op through all 3 games straight, without sleeping or pausing..

Really, something can't appeal to everyone. There is always a group who likes it and a group who doesn't. Some say it's overrated because they don't like it, but you don't have to take that seriously.

I feel the same way. I used to be a huge halo 1-2 fan and was excited about 3. But after playing the beta it really just felt like I was playing Halo 2 again and I got tired of it.

the beta was my first halo experience. never liked the two hours i spent with Halo2.

But since the beta my interest in the game has grown.

1 was amazing

2 was ok, but multiplayer was great

3....we already know multiplayer will be amazing, but no clue on the single player

I actually prefer Halo 2's single player more. A big part of that being because there is no library level. As for multiplayer, I prefer Halo 1's on the PC. Free online and no stupid kids on the headsets.vashkey

Yes the graphics were good. And so was the battle rifle and the lock on for the rocket launcher.
