Just remake FF7 already

Ok, I know this isn't a 360 type post, but you guys have some of the best opinions, and I like this board. I know there's quite a few RPG fans that own 360's.

So seriously, there's a number of online petitions asking for a FF7 remake...The game is selling between people on Ebay for 60$++...Why doesn't Square just cash in? If people are still waiting to pay 60$ for a game that old, it should be an obvious window for Square Enix.

I think now is the time to go multiplatform with the remake as well. Make a DS/PSP/PS3/ and 360 greatest hit for FF7...It will make a killing, it's obvious people are still willing to pay for it.

I would prefer a portable version, but I would gladly play a 360 version if it's one of the only options. What are you thoughts? How much would you be willing to pay, and would it be an instant purchase for you?

I mean...what are they waiting for? Don't turn this into a discussion about it being overrated/greatest game ever etc...Just thoughts on why Square hasn't cashed in on something that's been begged for.

They would rather milk the franchise for all its worth and just not bother.

Also, the employees at Squenix are the kind of people who hold the opinion that remaking a game has higher potential to spoilt it than it does to improve it, they dont care if people are willing to pay $60 for it.

You might see a PSP or PSN download of it sometimes, but tbh i personally dont want to see a remake either.

I do like your idea Mau-Justice but unfortunately us gamers have very little to say on some topics. I too would love to see a Final Fantasy 7 remake. But sometimes what gamers want, they don't get. There are a lot of people that want to see Shenmue 3, but that will not happen; even though is a large demand for it.

I agree it would be very popular; we all know that a remake of FF7 will sell. Instead SE would rather make prequels and side stories and movies from the FF7 game instead of remaking the game.

Buy the original FF7. They couldn't remake it and have people still love it for what it was.

And also, as for the side stories for FF7, they really need to let FF7 die already. They've made too much and it just seems cheap.

I have never actually played though the entire game just because it seems too outdated.

And yes, obviously people would pay money for it. I'd personally pay up to $60 like any other game for it, but I don't think it's going to happen, let alone for the Xbox 360. But if they release one for the PS3, then that's just another reason for me to get one.

I've actually been playing a ton of Older games...You gotta admit, this Gen is pretty dry for standout games.

I mean we all beat Gears/Bioshock etc like months and months and months ago. Move on already? It's one of my favorite games, I guess I'm not allowed to have the nostalgia for it since you say so. That's like hating on Chrono Trigger because people love it...

It has all of those fans for a reason.

Anyways, i completely agree with you, if SE were to remake this game i would snap it up. I missed the original game, its true that what I've heard makes it sound like the best RPG ever. tbh, if SE are gonna make so many add-ons then quit complaining about 'running it into the ground' etc. I would jump at the chance to get this game either on a portable console or on my 360, get out of your bubble SE and make FF7 again!

In one of nomura's interviews, he explains that the FF7 compilation is not done, just a remake would have to be a huge undertaking for them right now. think about it.

Their working on 3 kingdom hearts games/two FF 13 games/Just released "and the world ends with you"/ and then have to bring kingdom hearts 3 to the tables.

But i admit, ff7 remake would be a huge moment in my gamig life. lol

I know these have nothing to do with Final Fantasy VII, but what i really would like to see instead of remakes, is the ending to Shenmue. Or Shenmue 3 as it's known.

Or, another Fallout (or spiritual successor) by the original creators, imo Bethesda's game is a walking corpse of a franchise ressurected by dark magics.

Those would interest me more than a remake of FFVII. And im not bashing VII, behind fallout it's probably tied for 2nd place as my all time favorite game. Although the top 5 tends to juggle around a lot but its definately right up there. I just feel that it was perfect, and that graphics dont matter. Remaking it would only give Square the opportunity to add/remove/change things that i and other fans might, or might not like. Potentially dividing the community which is never a good thing.
