First off; Hellz yeah! I got this game like a week before the regular street-date.
Haha, I walked in and couldn't see it on the shelves anywhere. So I went up to the counter and asked the girl if she had any copies of Mass Effect. She kinda gave me a seedy look before hesitantly replying "Why yes, we do. I'll uh, go get you a copy" To which I said, "That would be cool"
Haha it was so funny/awesome. I felt like such a little thief getting it early, but then again I did pay 100 bucks for it. Standard price here in AUS. Ima go play it now..
Yeah i picked up 2 copys today from my harvey norman.... they are at every shop in AUS, apprently it was released early for us because of the assassins creed last minute delay and its to ease us gamers up, ( i mean its only delayed 5 days! but i wanted it so badly but now we have mass effect untill next weekwednesday when assassins creed ARRIVED:D) Anyway Mass Effect is aweome HappyPlanet SearchingAussie Friends:D

don't know why people are going crazy over this game..... didn't really appeal to me after watching numerous gameplay movies. It's whatever floats your boat though i guess
EDIT: i'm australian too... and i would just like to add (for the millionth time) how bs it is for aussies when buying games.... Americans pay 60usd for brand new games... which is like 68 aus..... and we go and pay like 80-110 for our games
I want it too. I have to wait exactly one week until I can get it though. I don't have a problem waiting normally, but when everyone has it already it becomes annoying to wait.

omg i laugh at the jelousy in this thread. YES i own two copys of MASS EFFECT and Yes its great. we have to wait an extra 5 days for Assassins Creed and u dnt see uss complaining and now we got mass effect aweek before you guys it seems fair. Get a grip and go play with Altair, While i have fun with Shepard:D
Haha Mass Effect kicks so much ass! The combat is fairly reminiscent of Gears of War surprisingly. Just loads better! I chose an Infiltrator type for Sheperd and specialise in pistols and sniper rifles =D

Yeah, we europeans get games around 65-70 euros. It's too much for some pockets.
Got mine today as well. You do know that if your department store has a JB Hifi, you can match the price at A$79

Haha I felt so damn sketchy getting it early that I totally didn't care about the extra 20 bucks =P It's friggen amazing huh? Yay for Australia getting Mass Effect WAY before anywhere else!
I'm around 10 hours in and the size of the universe is pretty overwhelming so far hehe. I'm doing all the side quests so that I can milk the length out of the game =D
