i just had some questions regarding on some steps to help keep the 360 from crashing.  i just want to know things that i could do to help from this happening.

i know that you have to have it well ventilated (i have it laying on a seperate end table). does it matter which way you place it?

for the power supply i have it on a flat hard surface, is this ok?  i also have it plugged directly into the wall socket, in that same wall socket i have a surge protector  which has my tv, dvd player and phone charger in it. should i get a bigger surge protector? could this cause a problem?

i have also heard people using those cheap big fans u get at walmart and putting it behind the 360, they say that it helps keep it cool, is this true?  also, should i every so often check the 360 on how hot its gettin and if it feels a tad bit hot should i take an hour or so break for it to cool off?

i do know that no matter how much u baby it, it can still crap out on you, im just tryin to see if i can do to make it last.  sorry for the long post and lots of questions, its just been on my mind since i just got my 360 back from microsoft. i just hope i dont have to worry about this for a long time. well thanks for reading my long post, and i thank any of you for helping me with my questions.

- Keep your 360 in a well ventilated and unblocked area - Elevate the power-brick off the floor, especially carpet. As with anything else, as long as you take a few steps to not blatantly cause the 360 harm, that's the best you can do. If even after all that, the 360 breaks, then there's little that can be done/said.

Lean it against the wall or something.

Wire it so the powerbrick and the console are inside a mini refridgerator... No but seriously, just keep it in a well ventilated area, tilt your power brick up against a wall or something and pray to the console gods that you never have to send it in and go without it for 2+ weeks.

no problem yes the system can use a fan and yes thank you for that and I will try my best to keep the x box 360 alive as well and all you have to do is make sure that you keep the system on the broadband and make sure that you play good games and be sure to see which games are good and which ones are bad and so you know that there are good games out for the x box 360 and it's probably the odds that went against you and me and that's what happened to you or to anybody in this forum and it's probably the game or the fact that I you or me didn't handle it well enough.

or to keep your x box 360 from freezing or some other thing like that you should probably stay away from games that have the reputation of freezing and then play another game, it's probably the game you were playing you know?.

you have a point there and just try to keep games that have a good reputation in the x box 360.
