Kick @$$ deal from Best Buy for the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player! Got mine today XD!

Browsing the internet, I found a deal starting with today's Sunday Ad at Best Buy for:

A free copy of Heroes Season 1 on HD DVD with the purchase of the 360 hd player, that was agiven; what was unsure was later on in the flyer was the deal stating "any two hd dvd titles 34.99 and under for free with the purchase of ANY HD dvd player.

Anyhow, after talking to customer service for about 10 mins and arguing with them, I finally got the manager's approval since the ad did say any hd player, what helped was right next to the hd ad was the blu ray ad which gave two free movies if u bought "this" blu ray player.

So in short, I went to best buy today, got the 360 hd player for 180 + tax and got heroes season 1 plus V for Vendetta and 300 on HD dvd for free; I'll also be sending in the deal for the 5 free movies.Basically, 8 free movies, 5 deal, 2 best buy, + king kong and Heroes for free when u buy the player. A crazy deal I think, one that makes the format wars a lot more interesting since hd dvd's alone would be over $300. Also, if you don't like heroes or any of the movies you can trade them in I guess or hawk them on E-bay. hope this helps! =D

PS - I wish our sales tax was 6.25% - we get prodded here in Ontario paying 14%.

It is in the best buy ads, you know the flyers or "paper" of deals they have at the store. It is located a few pages further down from the 360 ad.

^ ouch, sucks man. I guess the same is for those who bought the 80 gb ps3's over a month ago; nothing wrong with the ps3, I'd like one myself, just no good games I can find for it right now that I can't on the 360 and the seemingly play by ear tactics of Sony =X

Don't worry about it - I'm doing the same thing with my Xbox 360 (since launch). I have no HDMI, a small HDD, and paid more (not to mention having to send it in twice).

you said you got the hddvd, andheroes, 300 and V for free. recipt says you got the hddvd player for $119.. they charged you $179 (before tax)

pretty sure they charged you for V and 300 m8.

Seriously? Read AND think. The player is usually $179, but it is $60 off. The movies add up to $60... perhaps it was simpler for them to just take the movies' price off the player?

This deal is a steal IF you can pull it off. Heroes S1 and the 5 free movieswith the player is a good enough deal. If you can manage the other 2 free movies, you really shouldn't pass this up. Took a bit of arguing this morning, butsince the 2 free section of the ad doesn't have any player restrictions or modifiers (eg: not valid with other offers) they gave it to me. Corporate BB already knows about this discrepancy and is not allowing it. If you want the 2 free, go get it ASAP. Heroes and the 5 free rebate are valid all week though and that is still a great deal since Heroes alone is worth $100.
