Kinect. How do you feel about it and are you going to buy it?

Personally I would not buy it for the price of $149.99 even thought it comes with Kinect Adventures. Plus I already got a Wii and that's enough motion control for me. Honestly I do not care about the whole "no controllers" gimmicky feeling. I heard it works well but I never a big fan of motion control. After a day of playing sports, hanging with friends, and running around I am tired and want to relax a bit. I don't feel like flailing my arms around. I think the market for that has decreased drastically and eventually the Natal will be a thing of the past. I haven't played it in real life yet and I have even heard good things about it but I don't think it will be worth it. A bunch of people who own the wii though will probably get Kinect anyway though because of the new differeneces. At least it is going to be better than the Playstation Move in my opinion. Sony pretty much did nothing new there. The controllers even look the same with the navigation controller looking like a wii nunchuck and the wand looking like the wiimote. I really don't care about a glowing bulb on top of the wand.

People have no reason to take the Kinect-bashing as far as they do without trying it for themselves. They have no idea whether or not it will work on "hardcore" games. Right now, I see it as a very interesting concept, but I'll wait for release, read a couple of reviews from critics and other people, and then decide whether or not to get it.

Obvious gimmick is obvious. The LEAST I want to do is play games standing up. I can't imagine constant movement for over half an hour would be comfortable. Especially during the summer, when gaming is most popular, standing up and moving in the heat is NOT fun. For 150 bucks for a Wii emulator on X360, it's not really worth it, especially since NO good games will be coming out for it. I only play games like Halo, MW, and GoW, which will NEVER use motion control.

I think all of those trailers of the Kinect had people jumping around like monkeys. I mean really. They make the Kinect look like it takes way to much energy to play. And that's coming from someone who plays Lacrosse almost all year around.

Also, all of the games look like mini games. I didn't see any "full" games on the trailers. I think it would be very hard to make a "full" game on the Kinect because there are no controllers or buttons. Yeah, they are going to have games where you do use the controller, but then what's the point of even using the camera?

I will not be buying the Kinect. I already have a Wii anyways, and I use it maybe once or twice every trimester.

Edit: I understand some "hardcore controller games" like Fable III will be compatible with some Kinect features, but what's the point?! Think about it. Is there any reason at all to be playing Fable III, get off your couch/seat, and put your hand out to pet your dog? Especially since you can do the same thing but instead you can press one button. I think it makes no sense.

$150 for Kinect? You couldn't get me to pay that even if you included every single terrible launch title with it. Are they freakin' kidding?

I dont know how to feel. Something tells me despite how ridiculous it looks games like dance central and the star wars game seem to be quite fun. And kinectimals is so cute it makes me sick. I was definetly going to buy it for fable 3 but i need to see more of it before i decide now that i know fable 3 can be played without kinect.

I wasn't going to buy it at $150 if it didn't come with a game. Now that it does, most likely I will be getting it. Hopefully some websites will give you a selection what games you want with it.

i think girls will want it. girls have boyfriends. boys play video games. boys may buy kinect for their girlfriends/partners. there's the link. or if not women, kids.

A bunch of people who own the wii though will probably get Kinect anyway though because of the new differeneces.

It sounds like it might be alright but I will wait a few months or until it has enough games for it to make me want it. I bet one of my friends will buy it so I can just try it at their house and decide off of that.

hell no i'm not buying it. It needs at least a handful of quality titles at that price, and at this point it has zero. Even the Star Wars demo looked mediocre.
