I was thinking of purchasing KOTOR from the orignal xbox for my 360 because I have heard nothign but good things about it, and also I absolutely love the mass effect series, and I liked dragon age origins quite alot as well. I have a few questions though. Is it possible to play it on the 360 (im pretty sure u can im just making sure though) and also what is the gameplay and combat like? Is it more action like mass effect, or more turn based like dragon age, or is it a kinda mixture of both? Also do you think it will be really noticeable that it is an older game graphics and gameplay wise?

kotor works fairly well on the 360, technical issues here and ther but it works. It's combat basically is the exact same thing as Dragon Age

Dragon Age just uses and updated version of KOTOR's combat. Even the controls and menus are basically the same.

I still love kotor my fave game of last generation, the combat is almost the same as DA:O but streamlined not a cluncky radial menu but a bar at the bottom of the screen. Its also nice that you can pause the game que 5 actions for each party member and let it play out, something I wish they had in DA:O.. Story and characters are amazinga truegem.

Don't miss this game. One of the few rpgs i've played where your actions (dark side/light side) can really change the landscape of the game, which adds plenty of replayability. I love ME2, but even with the good/ruthless (paragon/renegade), at the end of the day you're are still fighting on the side to save the galaxy from the baddies. With KOTOR, anything goes. Your squadmates are diverse and all have interesting back stories which you get to explore as you like. The gameplay is very similar Dragon Age. Theres a huge variety of figthing styles (guns, force powers, and melee/light saber). Technically there are a few minor annoyances (sound cuts out at times, making you reboot the game if you want sound). In comparison to this gen of games it sometimes feels like it takes a long time traveling to and fro from places. Be sure to have backup saves. I had a game going that got corrupted and wasn't able to fall back on another save. If you end up digging KOTOR a lot, you'll have KOTOR 2 waiting in the wings without having to wait an eternity for a sequal (i.e. I want ME3 now!!)

KOTOR 1 and 2 both run. They get some bugs/framerate issues ocasionally, which is to be expected, but otherwise it runs fine.

To answer your questions 1. You can play it on the 360, but it might ask you to download a patch first 2. The gameplay more closely resembles Dragon Age than Mass Effect, as the combat is turn based, you can select and play as any party member on the fly, and the character you are controlling will do basic attacks unless you tell him/her otherwise. The "tactics" aren't quite as advanced and customizable as in Dragon Age. 3. Graphics-wise, yes, you'll definitely notice that it's an older game; hell, it looked mediocre even at the time it first came out. However, the story is what really shines in the game, as it rivals the story of the original trilogy and has probably the best plot twist in gaming history. Plus you'll want to play through it once as light side and then again as dark side.

If your a Star Wars fan, KOTOR is the story you have been looking for (hell, its better than the last three movies combined). I've played it on my 360 without a problem. Still a great game!

Awsome game! Play and enjoy, has a few frame rate bugs on 360 but thats about it. The game throws out some real curve balls that constantly challenge the way your playing, I lost count of the amount of time a went Light/Dark/Light/Dark/Light/Dark.

Just a comment on the first point. The graphics look superb after the download. Especially if you're using HDMI or component video cables. On a humourous note: i remember some time ago, here on this website, someone saying this game really sucks. Some time later he came back and said this game is the greatest. Why the difference of opinion? he got his first lightsaber.
