The Old Republic looks like what I'd expect from KOTOR3. The combat looks like it works the same as the other games but I think the world size, number of classes and number of quests is way bigger. On top of that, you can play it co-op. The only thing else i'd want would be something that'd probably fit more in line with a Jade Empire: real-time combat that was as good as and similar to the Jedi Knight series.

I don't really have that high of expectations for The Old Republic. I never really liked MMORPGs.

Agreed. 2 wasn't as good as 1 though. Darkside ending from 1 FTW.

That's not an argument that it would be better if it wasn't an MMO. I'm not an MMO player, but I'm seriously considering buying into The Old Republic. It is KOTOR 3. It borrows the dialog system of Mass Effect. All the NPC's that you interact with have a voice track, so no text reading. Being an MMO, of course you get to play with others on your quests which I think will be awesome. No word on space combat or vehicles, but I would be surprised if they didn't add that as an expansion at some point. If they could implement space combat as Star Trek Online has, The Old Republic could be a game that I would play for a very long time. Is it the monthly fee that you're against? The fact that it's on the PC?

There is no KoTor 3 in the same light as we know the series in development. Instead, they're developing an MMO. I'll try it, but I too wish it was just a console game, with maybe a multiplayer mode or two for XBL. Not a full blown mmo.

I was agreeing with the "greatest games of all time" point.

This isn't KOTOR 3, mind you. Just an MMO that transpires after the evernts of KOTOR, there's still a chance of KOTOR 3 happening (slim but there's still a chance).

Hopefully if TOR sells well they'll jump on KOTOR 3.

KOTOR was one of my favorite Xbox games while the Old Republic doesn't look that great from what I've seen. It's also only on PC.

no, this assures quality of servers, which if i did own it, would be what i want

but, in order for me to get my money's worth, i would be playing the old republic, and playing nothing else, which is stupid, especially if the fee is more than 15 dollars, and even at 15 dollars a month, thats a lot to spend to play a game, IMO

I was a huge fan of KOTOR1 and tried a little of KOTOR2....and i really wish there was another one coming out on the Xbox 360 with the obvious graphics improvement. But while I have given up on PC gaming....the old republic will def draw me back. Ill at least need to give it a try, and it doesn't seem to have the same boring grind as your average MMO. They claim it is very story driven and the demo vids seem to show this as well. Ill definatly be checking it out
