I bought xbox 360 for L4d. My spouse got it in her head to try video games and CoD WaW was a game she loved. So I thought well, she liked the campaign, nazi zombies and I love zombie games so I'll go get L4D. People told me if you are not going to play online don't get it...I didn't believe them since our standards as a co-op team isn't too high yet. Now keep in mind we were playing CoD's zombie stuff as two players only so as boring as it is to some, this was intense for her. Like "I drop my controller" intense when she gets scared.
We played L4D and I am rooting for this game. About 3 hours of play, and yes we suck...well she does and I kinda suck too compared to fps vets, we only got to the sewers of chapter one. While it was nice to have AI friends, I felt a tad less worried about dying in this game. It gave me a sense that I'll live and if not the bots will kill things and heal me.
So after this mini essay I am asking is L4D really best online w/ 4 people or do I just need to give the game some more time and it will still be great fun offline co-op game? I really want to love this game but we quickly went back to Nazi Zombies cuz she felt more at home w/ the controls for now.
Just want to know if any L4D players have played co-op offline and if they found it great etc. I already know single player is "ok".
Also since she loves CoD WaW co-op (simple game but great for her), should we just move on to Gears co-op? And revisit L4D when she has more experience? Would appreciate the help. My ultimate wish is to play an entire game dedicated to survival horror co-op. Much like the feel of REmake but w/ co-op....dark, closed areas etc. So I am hoping L4D can provide that for us.
thanks in advance....again she wont play online, she feels people get mad at her too much. I'm probably a weak link to the team as well, for now.
