sucks for the people who have launch consoles still havn't gotten red rings yet. what happens after that microsoft makes them pay like 150 for repair? like anyother thing that is wrong with it. iam2green
that's not worth it because a new console costs $200

I strongly agree especially considering the ps3 is about 400$ US or so. Thats like the price of 2 360 arcades considering you had your own harddrive for free.

and besides you may have a lot of friends on xbox live you wont be playing with... its possible they may not mean anything to u but then you'd have to start over again... and PSN will never be as good as xbox live, home is probably gonna be delayed again (IMO they should cancel it i think its quite novel)Well if you've had you launch console this long without any problems then I think you've had a good run.PlasmaBeam44
I agree if you've had a launch console for three years without getting the RROD you're probably pretty unlikely to get it at all.

No there not. Because they might have already gotten RROD a couple of times therefore giving them a refurbished console. And your warranty doesn't get extended another 3 years after you get that refurbished one.
Anyways i'm good til October 2009.
I just bought my 360 so I still have a long ways to go. But I still have my SNES that works great, so three years is not a long time. I was just thinking it would suck if MS won this generation and forced Nintendo and Sony to get out of the console biz. Can you imagine if there was no competition and the next gen, MS would make these crappy consoles that every gamer would have to buy because there was no other choice? I mean, they already dominate the computer market with their crappy WIndows software. I don't want them dominating the console market.cantor2537Well, wishful thinking. It is unlikely at this point that any of the three companies currently in the console race will exit any time soon. I'm hoping for Sony to fall due to their PS3 being quite expensive and a loss of revenue, and perhaps Nintendo's Wii to fail mainly due to it being avoided by the hardcore gaming crowd (pretty much all popular shooters like COD4, BF:BC have pretty much been Nintendo leave-outs since the release of the GameCube, as seen by the cancellation of GameCube releases such as Burnout 3, which I really thought was a humiliating blow to Nintendo given it's high rating). Not to mention that despite Nintendo finally having online gaming capabilities, it will never match up to Xbox Live or even PSN. I do remember back in 2002-2003 when a forum poster said "Nintendo has the worst online plans. All they are planning is Phantasy Star Online, which is already out for the Xbox." I'm really starting to think with the dominance of Microsoft and Sony that Nintendo has very well been a victim of its own success, given that the NES is what got America back into video games (which were said to possibly have been a dying fad) following the crash in 1982.
