he was here a week ago bragging about playing. took a few screencaps and invited some people to be his friends. all of whom reported seeing his gamertag saying he was playing "Pimps at Sea (Alpha)"

What do people think about the graphics? Of course, it's not finished yet and it is bound to look better, but it doesn't look as good as Gears of War right now.

It seems real enough. I was kind of skeptical until I saw the so-called "Spartan Laser" being fired off and then I was pretty much convinced that I was looking at Halo 3 images. It would have taken someone two eternities to create a MOD that adds a vehicle into Halo 2 that was never there as well as change the coding to make it to where a player sitting on the back would have his gun-hand move completely independent of the other hand while aiming. The only time the two hands are not in the same position or both holding a weapon at the same time is when someone throws a grenade. Despite the poor video quality, it seems safe to assume that the visuals of the game, even for an alpha version, were a step above Halo 2. For anyone on here complaining about the supposed "under par Gears of War visuals" just watch that video about Bungie redesigning the Brutes. That's the game engine in action. What we're looking at in photos that Bungie has recently released are most likely nothing more than an updated Halo 2 engine being used to showcase the new weapons and features of the game with the graphics to be enhanced with the new engine at a later time. Remember, Bungie is being as tight-lipped about this game as possible. They're probably only giving us what they want to give us.

gears still doesn't look that great to me. i seriously dont understand why people think that game is so great looking the colors in that game make it look so dry and boring. it has good textures but still i guess its just not a graphic style i like or something. i think halo 3 will look much better in terms of good looking enviorments and coloring.

Halo will most likely use a range of brighter colours, as they have previously in the first 2 games.
