There were too many shooters that came out last year, so I never got Left 4 Dead, but now I'm noticing it seems to be the game that everyone still seems to be playing. It's like this years version of Orange Box in that it's outlasting all it's contemporaries.

Is it worth a purchase?

At first I didn't like it at all, but it kind of grows on you. I think it's worth it now, there's still a lot of people online that play it. The game is kind of short but the promise of free DLC is nice for a change.

Well, the main question to ask yourself is: are you going to have people/friends to play with? Even with split screen co-op the game is an absolute blast to play.

Though the campaigns are fairly short (4 campaigns an hour long each on the normal difficulty), they're highly replayable due to the AI Director, which I don't entirely understand, but it means that the enemy placement is always different, which can make for some intense moments in one area where you need to sneak past a Witch, and another playthrough might send a Tank around the same area or nothing at all. It keeps you on your toes the whole way through.

If anything give it a rent first ir you're unsure. The gameplay is pretty simple, but you'd be surprised at how addicting the game can be when playing with friends and family, especially on the harder difficulties. It definitely deserves a playthrough.

This game would of been worthless without its MP but because it does have it, it is the best in terms of team based tactics than any other shooter. Buy it now since the DLC will be released next week.

personally, i got tired of it quickly...played a lot of co-op had finished the campaigns a couple of times each, but in the end i just got bored.

its a fun game if it keeps your interest....for some it does, for some it doesnt...depends on you as a gamer.

Left 4 Dead is a great game, but it lacks a serious amount of depth, content, and longevity. Even with online and playing with friends, I got tired of it after about two months. I still pop it in the 360 from time to time, but will only play it for an hour or two. I do not feel that Left 4 Dead was worth the money. The game shouldn't have been more than 20 bucks.
