level up in oblivion

Don't level up too quickly or the game will become hard. for you. Make sure you have a good set of armor/weapons/spells at your disposal. To level up, the best thing would be to look at your Major Skills and use them. If one of your major skillls is Blade, use a blade all the time to kill.

Do you even own oblivion?? What does going to a forest have to do with leveling up. The game isn't anything like a JRPG with random battles where one area is better than another.

You level up by raising your main skills 10 times. Simply perform whatever your main skills are and you will level up. Money is best earned later in the game when you actually get items worth something from people/chests.

If you have mostly fighting skills, killing things might help....Try a cave, lots of things to fight in caves.

If they are mostly magic, cast that magic alot. IF your in the mage guild and can create spells, create simple spells to cast over and over.

If it's athletics or arcobats, run, swim and jump alot.

I think if you go to the main entrence (not the back one) you will find the guy there. He has the key on him. I dont know if that helped, its been a while since I played it.

I think he means what do you actually have to do to level up once it tells you that you are able to...

You have to sleep in a bed somewhere (in a town or campsite etc) - once you go to sleep you will be given the option of increasing your skills etc....
