I think there are three main possibilities for the really-high-level people:
1. They're just really good, dead-on shots with good reflexes who get massive kills every round.
2. They're cheating with an aimbot or something similar.
3. They sacrifice social lives, grades, sunlight, etc. in return for massive playtime.
As most people have said, yes, they probably do just give up ALL of their free time to play BF3 as well as donate all of their gaming time to BF3.
HOWEVER, I can say that sometimes you do just get a ridiculous amount of XP. Highest I got from one match was 16k, so if they can do that every time, it wouldn't be that hard to already be that high of a level. For me, it only happens every once in a while.

Agreed. I would say pale faced virgin and pale faced virgin cheater are the dominant groups. Like the author, I've got a lot of career obligation, though no family responsibilities, and I've only managed 25 or so hours of play time - which seems like a TON to me. I'm around level 22, if I remember correctly. With the increase in XP required to level up, it doesn't seem unreasonable to say state that it would take an amazing player 60+ hours to reach the top level the honest way. I like to think I'm better than the average player and even I can't imagine playing that much in so short a time...
I'm level 40, don't see the big deal really. Played for over a day(game time), If you work out the math, its hardly a no job/life situation. The game came out just before the weekend so thats two free days for a lot of people to chill and play. I have a pretty good SPM, but considering people can get a real high SPM, its hardly surprising some have completed the first run through the ranks.
