Alright so this probably should have gone under the broken 360 thread...but whatever.

Got the infamous RROD today...thank GOD I decided to get the Best Buy replacement plan! Just a few questions about what the hell to do next, maybe some other unlucky owners can help me out here:

1) Any way to get my saves/gamer profile off my hd when I buy a new 360? I vaguely remember there being a transfer cable or something...probably about $75 right?

2) Are the chipsets in both the "pro" (white) and "elite" (black) now the falcon design, which is supposedly more reliable, or just the elites?

3) I actually profited $100 by having my 360 break (payed $400 for pro a year ago, price drop rings it up as $299 now :D) , is it worth it to pay $50 MORE and get the elite or just make $100 and get another pro? (I never ran out of hd space) Just wondering how much a difference hdmi makes as opposed to standard cables when playing on 720p.

A sucky day, but maybe someone out there can steer me in the right direction! Thanks guys.

why not get it fixed by microsoft... it should still be under the 3 year warranty for the RROD.

That way you can keep your current HDD, and they send you a replacement.

Happend to my elite a few weeks ago, and they sent me another one once they received mine (could be refurbished or new, not quite sure, and dont really care)

Microsoft has committed to replacing all Xbox 360's that suffer the rrod. You keep your hard drive, they send you a new xbox. Easy as that. You'll have to find something to do while you wait though :P

If you're bored you can try the towel trick with the RROD.

But if not just hop on www.addictinggames.com and waste your life there :D
