Limited/Collector's Editions

Do you usually buy the limited/collector's editions? I usually buy the limited edition if it brings a special case, some cool in-game extras or something along those lines. I don't buy every single collector's edition, only when the price diference isn't greater than 30 bucks.

I have the Bioshock, Gears of War 2, Fable 2 and Halo 3 special editions. What about you guys?

I don't have any right now, but I have the Dragon Age: Origins and Forza Motorsport 3 Collector's pre-ordered. I'm starting to want the specal editions more and more

I have the Call of Duty World At War Collectors Edition. I bought it from a friend and only paid $40 for it but I didn't get the online extras with it since he already used the codes. I saw 4 of these on the bottom shelf of the 360 game cabinet at Walmart yesterday still for $80 so I'd say I didn't get too bad of a deal since the regular edition of the game is still $60 :P I wish more games had a special edition *cough*Borderlands*cough*

Oh yes, Claptrp is funny lol and in the Borderlands forums I lurk in there seems to be a cult following of that Steve guy with the HIYO catchphrase being all kinds of overused.

I pre-ordered the Prestige Edition for MW2

i preordered prestige mw2 and collectors forza 3, the only game where i really got the collectors for was gears of war 1

I usually don't buy Limited Editions, because I don't see the point in the useless stuff they have in them.

Almost never, and I can't remember the last one I bought new. The only two this generation I would give any credit at all to would be Halo 3 and Fallout 3, as they both had some pretty unique stuff in them. The Batman AA, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Collector's Editions are laughably bad. Night vision goggles that can see 50ft for almost $100 bucks? No thanks.

The game companies truely do make enough money without having to push absolutely worthless CEs down your throat. This is all stuff that you can get used on Ebay or in pawnshops a couple weeks later for pennies on the dollar. Not bragging at all but I'm one of the biggest collectors I know around here and for me CE=Rip Off.

i only got the king kong limited collectors edition and thats for PS2.

Only when the extras are actually worth it.

I used to ALWAYS buy them, no matter what. But recently I have come to terms with the fact that that is just stupid. For example, when SCIV came out I was just all "It has a huge metal case and a shirt, gotta have it" so I pre-ordered it. 80 bucks for it. Beat it with a few characters, shelved it. A month ago I tried to sell it, but it almost sold for 99 cents on eBay. I removed it and traded it on GameTZ for Tales of Vesperia, and I was lucky to get that. I figured out the best option was to plan it out. See if it was a game I knew I would keep regardless (Fallout, RE5, COD4, Halo 3 to name a few). If it comes in varying stages (like Halo 3 or MW2) I decide which I can afford, and see what is in it. At first, Night Vision goggles seemed a must have, but I thought about it. I get all the same stuff in the Hardened Edition minus the goggles, and something told me if they cost 60 bucks, they won't last long.

And to answer the question of which ones do I have, here it is:

Halo 3 (Legendary)

RE5 (PS3)

Call of Duty 4

Fallout 3 (PS3)

Metal Gear Solid 4

Perfect Dark Zero

Saints Row 2

MK vs. DC (Worst decision ever)

Plan on getting hardened MW 2

For 360 games, I have Gears 1/2, and Oblivion's collector editions. I'll usually buy simple CE's, not stupid over-the-top one's like the Prestige Edition for MW2.

I always just buy the "normal" edition. I am interested in the Assassins Creed 2 LE though. idk, might be my first LE purchase.

The only collectors edition I've bought is the MW2 Hardened Edition, which I have pre ordered.

the only limited edition game i have is perfect dark zero. just don't want to pay the extra $10. i would buy alot of CE versions if i had the money.

also got GTA4 one, the only on i regret is the Saint's Row 2 one since the USB memory diedand the RE5 one..... nothing worth there the Chris fig looks so dam ugly and the bag is too small for my needs most of the times, at leats the GTA4 one was actually big and usefull

I got Halo 3 and Bioshock

The one and ONLY Collector's Edition I have is of GTA IV. The lockbox I use everyday and use the duffle bag everytime I go shopping(comics/games/etc.).

Games I hope have Limted/Collector's Editions:

Red Dead Redemption (replica pistol with holster or authentic cowboy hat)

Metal Slug 7 (with a mini-Metal Slug, JOY!!!)

Castlevania: Lords of Shadows (a real bullwhip or dracula fangs)

&

Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Sith Edition (I doubt it though since it's a re-release)
