you could have your neighbors free loading off of your connection and that could cause you to lag. you should password protect you connection if it isnt already.

cardiackid: my password is protected, i use mcafee security so i dont think anyone is doin that..good idea though i didnt think of that..

phili: i dont think its that because my modem is literally like 10 ft from my 360 and plugged in with a ethernet cable..and my laptop is near my modem/router..but my computer works fine, as does the internet on my computer..i was reading some stuff online and I saw a lot of people complaining about the Westell Modem/router as being nothing but headaches..thats what I have...maybe I need to upgrade to a better modem/router..i dont know im at a road block

I sometimes get lag as well, though my wireless router is quite far away. My biggest problem I find though is my mobile phone which I had to turn off because it kept on disconnecting me mid game, and when it actually rings it completely disconnects we signal for my laptop.

Well I had verizon dsl too I think that was the problem. after I got fios I never lagged again except ig I play Gears on a east coast connection. try moving your xbox so it can pick up a better wifi connection, and check how long your 360 can connect to Live when you test connection. Sometimes its just the provider.
