lol why do people pre-order media?

It's like the most pointless thing ever, I was buying a game today and they asked me like eight times if I wanna pre0order halo, gta, the movie 300.

I'm like uhh... i'm just going to buy it the day it coems out, and the guy just looked at me like you're right!

Like seriously, it's not like stuff sells out, and there are enough stores that carry whatever media I may want..

this is the most rediculous thing ever haha.

The only thing i would ever be to close to pre-ordering is GTAIV.

But I highly doubt that the streets will run dry, and it will be harder to get than a PS3 on launch day.

Media never sold out? That's why it took me almost 2 weeks to find a store that wasn't sold out of GH 2?

not everybody lives in a Podunk town and is unemployed. I preorder games because it is nice to get off of work around 6pm and be able to stop by gamestop and pic up the game and go right home and not have to worry about the game being sold out and having to drive to 3-4 stores to find it. I have gone without preordering a game before and Its sucks having to drive around to find it. Usually when games come out they are all gone by night time of the date of release.
