Looking at getting another Xbox 360.

I have been a PS3 gamer for a while. I got a 360 about a year after launch and at the time I didn't have enough cash to buy games so I sold it. Abouta year ago I got an Elite model and I had 3 RRoD in 6 months. I really want to get another one for some exclusives that came out recently, and some other multiplatform games that I would enjoy getting the achievements for, but I'm just concerned about the reliability issues they seem to have. I like the system itself, I'm just wondering whether you guys think its a good idea considering all the rumors about the "Slim" and Natal equipped systems.

the "slim" if it ever happens will probably have overheating issues too (or another issue) and I have had better luck with the newer 360s out than those closer to launch... if it is worth it to you.. (and buy a warranty)

ive had the jasper model, which is the the current production model, for a year and 4 months. its been on for an averave of 4 to 5 hours a day since ive gotten it and ive never had a problem with rrod or e47 or anything. id say get the 360 thats out now, get it at best buy, youll get the elite model with halo odst and forza 3 for 299 plus they will throw in a 50 dollar gift card witch you can use to buy another game

My launch console lasted longer than that, and even it's first repair lasted 2 years.

But I still have my doubts even about the latest model. Perhaps it will last a lot longer, perhaps even through the rest of this generation. But I kind of doubt it.

Don't be too surprised if you get the red ring too.

I bought a new elite in November and it has been on close to 24/7 ever since I've had it(not always being played though). I've never had a problem with it but it may have to do with me following the common advice, install games on harddrive, give it some room and have it stand. Of course I had an arcade I used the same way except I left it sitting with a wii on top, so I'm not so sure if any of that stuff matters, or maybe only sparing the disc drive by installing the games is what helps most.
