Whenever my landline phone rings, my connection to xbox live either cuts out completely or lags like hell for a couple of minutes. I know the broadband and phone are connected through the same network but surely in this day and age there shouldn't be a problem with lag? I've noticed this happening when i go on the internet in general too, it's not just on xbox live.

If you guys have a solution to this problem please tell me

My guess is that your router and your phones are on the same frequency. You can change this in your router settings.

Or someone messed with your wiring. I had to have the tele company come and fix it cause it was messed up wiring outside somewhere. Internet disconnected when the phone was picked up.

You most likely need a DSL telephone filter, which is basically a telephone jack on one end and the other is 2 phone jacks that have a DSL/phone jack. If you dont have a filter everyime someone calls your home you lose connection. Shouldnt cost more then 1-2 dollars or maybe your ISP just gives em out for free.

I would have to agree. The filters will solve your problem.

THIS DUDE. I had your same problem back home. You probably have DSL right? Yeah of course you do. You just need a filter. Also, don't run your internet cable through a surge protector, have it go straight from your router to the wall.
