i dont know if this has been posted before, but i just wanted to share my opinion :)
as far as i can see this will be an decent game (my opinion) some of the things i find interesthing are:
mature game/a game for the older peope -
"It's more mature than a lot of JRPGs. Kaim is a tortured soul. As we discover, living 1000 years means building a tall stack of regrets"
"At one point you meet two kids who prove important to your quest. Neither has an annoying voice, throw temper tantrums or act comical. "
Traditionel JRPG's can still be good -
"Lost Odyssey reminded me that there's nothing wrong with traditional JRPGs. They can, in fact, still be good with just some minor tweaks to the turn-based combat and with solid storytelling."
"If you don't like traditional RPGs, there's probably nothing in these wrinkles that is going to change your mind, but for those of us who have played our fair share of turn-based RPGs, the changes are enough to allay any sense of tedium. At least through the first disc"
A rather long game -
"Ten hours in and one disc (of four) down, there's reason to hold out hope for Mistwalker's latest."
Interesting side story/extra story for the main character -
"There are around 30 dreams to discover and all are delivered as text with some artistic backgrounds. Boo text, right? Well, don't discount these memories. Many of these tales, while illuminating on the long history of Kaim's world, are often excellent reads. In fact, several are more interesting than anything that's happening in the main storyline."
Less battle's but harder and more xp rewarding -
"Rather than forcing you to slog through dozens and dozens of enemies in the environment, Lost Odyssey levels you faster than usual. The enemies tend to be a little tougher, but are less frequent. Two of the four bosses on disc one are really tough and only by grinding a bit could we get Kaim and company enough of a boost to get past them. But, again, the grinding was not nearly as long and tedious as in older RPGs. "
Story>Combat -
"Lost Odyssey occupies four discs because it is overflowing with cut-scenes. This is a story-heavy game and it appears that combat is not the focus."
I like traditionel JRPG's with great stories and unique characters. If this game is a good as they say i'm getting it for sure :) as long as they cut down on the technical issues :(
so - what do you think?
