Lost Odyssey!!

well im a pretty big FF fan.. and this game looks SO DOPE um anyone heard anything bad about it.. cause im really considering it. Besides mass effect this looks like one of the other top rpgs....for the 360

That should make you wana get it. Well mostly the gametrailers review will make you want to get it but the ign review is good aswell.

go to gamerankings.com where you will get a comprehensive review score of the game...i believe as of to date there have only been 4 reviews...with 3 scores giving it around a 8.5 and 1 score giving it a 5 out of 10 so im not sure what to think as of now...in about 4-5 days i would suspect that there will be around 20-25 reviews of the game so i would wait to see what the verdict is...the only problem I have heard about from reviews is that the game is basically a movie due to the excess amount of videos in the game...that is why it is on 4 discs....if anyone remembers the game xenosaga it was the same way (75 percent videos, 25 percent gameplay) which was cool for about an hour but then was so annoying that you just skipped the videos and then had no idea what was going on...im uncertain about this game and until i hear good things about it i am staying away...i enjoy cool in game videos but whne it takes away from the gameplay and the button smashing count me outdeadbeat2381

Most people found the GT review to be the most informative and justified review for LO right now. Here's a list of cons I gathered while reading all the reviews.

- Traditional turn based gameplay (probably a turn off for most gamers)

- Long and frequent load times (we're talking 8 secs for battles)

- Random battles

- Typical JRPG story (mixed reaction in this category, however imported players are saying it's quite good)

- No innovation (...yeah, cause there's been a lot of this in recent FPS games)

I think gamers in need of a new RPGs will like it as well as gamer's who already played any FF games (I hear it ressembles FFX).

The encounter rate is low but enemies are tougher and offer more EXP.

I was interested in this game too, then I saw the reviews. Like the one from Gametrailers made me want to get it even more, but Gamespy gave it a 50%?!?! .....so then I got skeptical....but one of the cons being it was a JRPG and it is just like the rest of them, but COD4 and Halo are sooooo revolutionary right? Don't get me wrong, I loved COD 4 but it didn't do much for the FPS genre, so that must be a con right....?

Ya gotta hate biased reviews....but I think I will still be getting LO...which I think everybody else should too, well those that are interested in it...

I agree, and if u look at the reviews so far... 5 people reviewed the game... and 4 out of those 5 liked it alot and all gave the game 80%+

4/5 is still pretty good average if you ask me

It's 40 hours of gameplay, not including cutscenes. It's pretty lengthy but I heard that to finish all side quests and fully complete the game takes about 80-100 hours.

I was excited about this game at one point but the excitement died down. I'll wait for more reviews, maybe rent it first, then I'll buy a few weeks after release.

I've been playing the witcher so any load times will seem short after that game. :)

If your a FF fan why wouldnt you check out this game made by the guy who helped make the FF games. they have the classic turn based attack system with a mass of army to fight its unbelivable looking havent u seen the trailer for the first level with in game footage?

Man, me and you both brother. Oblivion just totaly ruined the action style RPG for me. Although Mass Effect rocked my world.

That guy not only helped make FF series but he started it... FF series was great... Suprisingly FF1 supposed to be the last game Sakaguchi intended to make... This game is a must if your a fan of classic turn base RPGs... Closest you can get to the Final Fantasy experience in the 360....Same old formula and melodramatic story just the way i like it.... Because RPGs like Oblivion doesn't give the same story telling as these games... The only thing i remember about the story in oblivion is hero, portals, demonic creatures, hack, slash and walking around the landscape....

Lost Odyssey is one of those reasons I hate college. Too much studying not enough free time to enjoy a game thoroughly. But I will definitely be getting this game, either tomorrow or friday so I can have a great marathon session this upcoming weekend :-)jimmypop_04

This is a classic Japanese roleplaying game, with some modern flare; nothing less, and nothing more. Does that mean it isn't going to be great? Hell no, that is what makes it great in my opinion, and that is exactly the experience I am looking for. People whom degrade this game because at it's core it is a classic Japanese roleplaying game should'n't be playing it, because that is what it is, an homage from a modern era.

If you are excited about Lost Odyssey because you know exactly what you are getting into, by all means buy this and support it. Otherwise, do some research and make your decision.

Thank God for someone with the intelligence to realize this. If you don't like turn based rpg's then this game won't be for you. It's that simple.
