i bought it with the game. there are a lot of items in every orner of the area you're in, it gives good tips such as recommended level to be when fighting bosses as well as what equipemnt to have, how to use them, and locations of everything ranging from all the "Thousand Dreams" to hidden treasure boxes etc etc.
i dunno, im one of those RPG strat guide fanatics. that's what helped me in FFX to give every character their best weapon :D
plus, it's only $20 for a guide you'll have on your lap or next to you, instead of getting up to your computer to check online, and scroll to find exactly what you need, and then sometimes it's vague. it's a game that'll last you 40-60 hours, so a guide is worth it.
there's a forum link on here too. Now you dont have to buy the prima guide. ;)

i used that site in cd 1 because i didint know what healing herb were and i couldnt finish a boss.. so that site svaed my gaming for lost odyssey.. and everything is on it its amazing! but i prefer to not use it, takes the fun of knowing what to expect out of it
