people have come to say that gears of war is the finest game for the xbox 360. well at least it was until lost planet came out for the 360. if i had the choice on spending sixty bucks on lost planet or gears of war i would honestly have to say lost planet. i know the graphics are amazing on gears of war and its pretty much the best of what we've seen the 360 perform. but its limits only go so far. it's single player is amazing even co op online and local is pretty cool. but when it comes to playing online it is crappy in my opinion. I mean there are so many glitches in the game. a couple of things i hate about the game is the chainsaw. yea dont get me wrong it was an awesome idea. but the fact that a guy can jump at you from a pretty long distance is pretty stupid. its like a crappy shotgun and thats it. its a good idea for single player but not multi player. another thing that really gets me is the ability to take cover. its so stupid because when you play with little kids or people who just plain suck at the game thats all they ever do they hide. so here i go walking down an alley i pass a truck up and oh what do you know there is another opponent hiding there and comes to chainsaw me. woo congrats for pulling out a little kid move. one thing i will give props for is the idea of every player only has one life per round. now lets switch it up to lost planet. the graphics are ok they really dont match up to gears. and the single player is ok to. but when it comes to online this is where it shines the most. its like a halo mixed with battlefield 2 game. people jumping around all over the place and trying to take spawn points. its pretty neat. you have big machines to jump in and go and kill people with and you have every type of weapon you could ever think of needing for an all out war game. there is nobody hiding behind walls for the whole match waiting till you turn that corner and there is no stupid chainsaw. well i guess it all comes down to do you like single player games or multiplayer games my opinion is multiplayer because of the fact once you beat a single player game thats it. you're done with it but an online game there is just competition all over the place and you never get bored of it. i guess we will never find a game that is excellent in all departments refering to graphics, gameplay, single player, and online. it will just never happen......:cry: so what do you have to say?lil_g3n3ral

Honestly they both suck. There both way to short to be paying $60.00 for. The graphics are not worth paying that much for a game....and thats all your paying for.

But Gears kills Lost Planet in ever way possible IMO.  Lost Planet isn't bad, but it just doesn't come close to Gears for me.

I love when people says Gears of War didn't "last long enough." That's funny... I've been playing it since the day it came out, I enjoy the multiplayer almost every night. The campaign is only half the game folks. Nobody was complaining that Super Mario Brothers, Contra, and many other of the greatest games of all time can be beat in about a tenth of the time Gears of War can. Quit whining. If you want a 60 hour campaign, go buy a role playing game. Since when do shooters need to be longer than 8-10 hours? I own both Lost Planet and Gears of War, and Gears is so much better than Lost Planet it's not even funny. To each their own though.jacksheets

I think Gears single player is better but Lost Planet has better multi-player. The reason I think Lost Planet is better online is because the maps are bigger, there are more game modes, it's not as predictable, you can control different types of mechs, it's 8 vs 8 and the list goes on and on.

Doesn't Lost Planet have some pretty generous auto-aim?  I know in the single player mode, it was such that you could just aim in the vicinity of a baddy and you'd shoot him.  I haven't played it online, but I heard that the aim-assist was pretty bad (ie - too much aim assist). 

Still, Gears is great online.  Probably the most intense, most visceral, and best looking multiplayer game ever.  Lots of bugs, cheats, bullet lag, etc. that have made me move on to playing GRAW2 for the time being.  But, word is that they are coming out with a new patch and some new DLC for Gears, so I'll probably get back into it again soon.

they dont they are just a collection like video games but still you should make time for both.
