Lost rankings on COD4 live

Same thing here. I was dropped one rank from 13 to 12 before Christmas. I put it down to, perhaps, quitting early and not saving or something like that. I told my friends online and to be honest most of them were pretty incredulous, as if I was making it up! So I don't think this is happening to many people or the likelihood is they would have believed me!

I continued to play COD4 online and ranked up to 30 over the past few weeks. Last night I stopped playing to go and play some other games and went back to COD4 later. When I went back I had lost 18 ranks! So now I am back at level 12 again. I'm pretty pissed off because I have lost all the perks, weapons and weapons upgrades that I had spent a considerable time grinding out of the game. I don't even feel like playing it anymore because I will be going over previously covered ground for the foreseeable future. This sucks.

I imagine when you go online there is some kind of synchronisation of your profile saved to your HDD and the profile held on the game servers. Presumably if either of these data are corrupted then the game/servers revert to a previous save or something. Whatever the problem is they need to sort it out. I play less than many. I can imagine that there are people who have h worse experience than I have and lost more ranks. I would be interested to hear who else had suffered this problem and if there is a solution. I may write to the publishers and find out if this is common.

Hooray! I have just checked out my COD4 online profile and my rank is back so I am back up to 30. Not the highest rank in the world but still very annoying to lose so much time. Or at least believe you have.

I didn't play when my rank had been reduced to 12. A friend thought that it would jog the system into returning to my actual rank but I didn't want to risk it. Would it have made that rank stick I wonder?

I don't know how this is happening but I would love to know so if anyone can shed any light I would still be very interested.

Yeah this happened to me before, I thought I was the only one that had this problem, but I didn't lose a rank, my kills on my leaderboard just decreased, about 1150 kills from like 1000, but the death stayed thesame as beforeI was really pissed off.

same thing with me im going to call in a little bit and see what the problem is they have to fix it no one is going to play if they cant rank up ill let everyone no what happens.
